Title: Army of 2

Anyone picked this up? Bought it yesterday. Its not bad though the online can be annoying because your team mate will leave during the game which ends it. Happens a lot with the high earning sub missions.

ya i got it. pretty decent game, fun team play. whats your gamertag? mine is Ards

g-fox - March 10, 2008 07:59 PM (GMT)
doesn't look all that great,it's just another dumbass shooter to me

Helikaon - March 10, 2008 08:09 PM (GMT)
It's pretty good. The gameplay is brilliant if you hook up with a friend online and the references to movies and other games are really funny.

Midna - March 10, 2008 08:15 PM (GMT)
i was about to pick it up today but i think its only worth a rental

Webbie - March 10, 2008 10:03 PM (GMT)
If I didn't plan on getting rid of my 360 I'd have probably already bought this game, but aside from this thread I've actually heard bad things about it. It looks good to me watching it on the internet but it's hard to really judge anything without playing it.

I'm planning on trading in my copy of Kane and Lynch for some cash towards this game, I really need a co-op game and Kane and Lynch isn't that great, I heard Army of Two isn't supreme either but it should still be a step up

Well what makes this game fun is the ability to modify your weapons and pimp them out. You can also chat with your teamate during the game. I love dragging my team mate out of harms way because he got shot down. But Now that I beat it its probably getting traded in.

Thank God I only rented this game.. In my opinion, from all the hype it was getting it definitely does not live up to it. Graphics in game aren't that great, gameplay isn't that innovative, online matches (in my experiences so far) are extremely laggy and often the connection fails. The only thing saving this game is some of the humor throughout the levels.

I have too many FPS's at the moment so I'm not going to buy any I think this year (unless it's something special and no way am I buying Killzone 2)

BigBoss14 - March 12, 2008 11:17 PM (GMT)
one of my friends has it and it looks pretty awesome. The co-op is the biggest draw.

Why do so many people think this game is a FPS? lol. That's two people on these forums alone that I have corrected thus far.

Helikaon - March 13, 2008 12:02 AM (GMT)
Ah my friend some see no distinction between TPS and FPS.

Shame on them.

Anyways, I'm done with this game, the upgrades were cool for a while but I can't be arsed replaying it again. It's a lot like Halo 3 in that respect, fun for a while but after the seventh campaign run it loses it's novelty.

Webbie - March 13, 2008 12:06 AM (GMT)
lol. Sounds like it was smart of me not to buy it.

But yeah, IMO the difference between TPS and FPS is huge. I used to hate FPS games until I played BioShock and COD4. I just don't enjoy the view at all. I'd rather be able to see my character.

(slight bumpage)

I just bought this game yesterday, and I think it's quite fun. The fun of a lot of it starts to wear off after the second mission or so, but the ability to customize and upgrade and pimp out your guns is just too appealing, and the aggro thing is genius in my mind

anyone play online? if so do you play co op or vs?

Sometime in summer I was talking to this chick in an mmo, was probably a dude, but she/he/it was saying that it works for a beta testing company in Canada, and that they tested this game. She/he/it basically told me it sucked and not to get it.

Okey, so I don't know wether(Spelling?) or not to pick up Army Of Two, can i get som concrete pros and cons? (Good things vs. Bad Things....) Thanks in Advance People

PRO:
-Fun and unique team-tactical shooter.
-Seamless cover system. Gun upgrades (from larger magazines to gold plating).
-Aggro meter offers new twist to team tactics. Split-screen mode with a friend is a blast.
-Online also focuses on two-man teams to accomplish missions.
-If you don't have a 360 for Gears of War, it has a similar feel to that game.
-All the team tactics just feel badass.
-If you max out aggro you go into overkill mode.

CON:
-You use pretty much all the two-man-tactics in the first mission or so, so after that there isn't much new to try.
-If you don't play campaign with a friend (off or online) you'll realize your teammates AI sucks balls, he'll run around in circles or just sit around waiting for you to command him to do something.
-Gun upgrades must be purchased in order (must buy 2x clip before you buy a 3x clip).

that's all I can think of for now.

AndHen - March 25, 2008 07:24 PM (GMT)
Ok, thanks ^_^
Probably going to pick up this pretty soon, I've seen some gameplay videos, and it looks badass!
BUT!
Is it worth to buy just to play by yourself?
If that's a big no-no, I'll probably just skip this one....
