Title: spectacular spider-man

Despite this new show focusing more on theStan Lee/Steve Ditko/John Romita SR era, I had my doubts about the show and the promos weren't winning me over but after watching the premier of the first 2 episodes, this show has won me over and looks incredible and has actuallyrestored my faith in cartoons. Thank God they're not using some anime rip off look either.

I'm loving the abundant nods to characters from the original comics and seeing some characters animated for the first time after almost half a century.

On a bonus level Jisk Keaton (ocelot) voices peter/spider-man and vanesa marshal (olga) voices MJ.

If this show continues with what it has started, it could just be the best interpretation of the comics.

What do y'all think?

For the 5th Spider-man Cartoon Series, I was really hoping they would take it in another direction, maybe following the 'Ultimate Spider-man' Comics arcs, it really seems like the same old stuff though.

The animation isn't horrible, but it isn't the computer-generated series either...

EDIT- I really think it would have been sweet if they used this animation style to being the Ultimate Spider-man series to life. All they would need is voice-overs and music...

I just watched a bit of the series and it looks kinda weird, I mean why is spidy so young? I thought it's not that bad since spidy started of young in the comics maybe later on he'll grow up. Then I saw Aunt May and I was like WTF!? why is she a hotty? why is she so young? it's basically Mary Jane with white hair. Then the Oscorp scene came and I thought I saw Norman (bald head man with long nose) and I was like WTF!???? but then the real Norman showed up which looked like him so at least they didn't fuck him up.
I like the fact there starting with well known bad guys and thats about it. I mean it doesn't look like Peter's going to age anytime soon especially since he was wearing the black costume and he still looks like he's about 12 but in the comics he was in his mid 20's to early 30's when he got the black costume. 90's animated series FTW!.

I suggest you read some of the Ultimate range, or rather not; based on your comments there.

I'm not really impressed, the art style annoys me.
