Title: Best trilogy of all time
wolfie - March 16, 2008 02:45 PM (GMT)
Which is the best trilogy of the west film studios. So i know is kind of murderous to put Star wars against star wars, but i feel this way is more fair for those who like just one half. Anyway my choice is matrix because is the one with the best story, now I will admit the first one is the best of the trilogy, in all the series is almost perfect for me.
P.S. the lord of the rings is a big hippy excuse to feed hippy ideals. So LOTR fan boys that want to kill me there is a line for that.
Muikuli - March 16, 2008 02:54 PM (GMT)
Out of these, I say 'The Lord Of The Rings', because the movies were good and consistent.
The movies were just well made, many of the weaknesses are actually flawes of the original book.
skywalker - March 16, 2008 03:14 PM (GMT)
I voted for star wars original trilogy. Big shocker a everyone. Although Episode 1 is my favorite, I still like the last 3 as a whole the best. I do look at the series as 6 movies and not 2 sets of 3.

Who said that the Pirates of the Carabien is over?
Johnyman - March 16, 2008 03:32 PM (GMT)
The Matrix in my opinion, even though Pirates Of the Caribbean is good too.

Johnny Depp
jonhou - March 16, 2008 04:18 PM (GMT)
Because we all know Johnny Depp writes the scrips.
Solid_Bauer - March 16, 2008 07:32 PM (GMT)
I'm going with the Star Wars prequel trilogy.
The originals were fantastic movies. i bought them after seeing The Phantom Meance for the first time. But I prefer the prequels. The lightsabre fights win it over for me. Not a big fan of Hayden Christiansens performance in both Episode 2 and 3. But the rest of the movies made up for that. Ewan McGregor is fantastic. The music is superb. The stories are great. The special effects amazing. Love those movies ^_^ George Lucas is definately one of my all time favourite directors.
Lord of the Rings would come second for me. I'm not as crazy for those movies as my parents are. They're great movies. Especially The Return of the King. But they are a bit too long to keep for my tastes. Still great none the less :)
abc123 - March 16, 2008 07:36 PM (GMT)
Star Wars the original trilogy, nothing beats it.
Helikaon - March 16, 2008 07:45 PM (GMT)
I don't know about best of all time but I enjoy the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy an awful lot.
More so than Star Wars to be honest. I was very disenfranchised by the prequel trilogy (the Clone Wars only lasted 3 years? what the hell!/The Wussification of Darth Vader). Expanded Universe FTW.
Young Snake - March 16, 2008 07:51 PM (GMT)
I really enjoyed the Lord of the Rings trilogy back in the days, those were some epic movies.
Roy Campbell - March 16, 2008 07:57 PM (GMT)
Star Wars Original Trilogy wins it by a landslide. The other trilogies are so far off SW. I cannot express how good these films are.
Another one of my favorite trilogies has to be the Rambo trilogy so i'm suprised that wasn't included in the poll.
And I suprised the Matrix was included and that someone actually voted for it. Granted the first film is up there as one of the best films ever made but the other were bollocks. They were so dire - perfect examples of how not to make sequels - or even a perfect example of how not to make a film! The Matrix trilogy sucked big time.
Liquidus_Snake - March 16, 2008 08:03 PM (GMT)
What the fuck is "The Goth father"....
If you meant "The Godfather" I would of probably of voted for that..

Well the other day I read there is going to be another rambo and is already been filmed so that is why is not on the list because is not over. The reason why I also left out terminator and robocop is because those movies as good as the may be are not build as a trilogy, they are just sequels to a movie that made a lot of money.
Sorry for making a mistake spelling The Godfather, also misspelled prequel man I am forgetting how to writte in English.

If I was a movie critic I'd say the original star wars triligoy. But I've never been a Star wars nut, so I'd have to say Lord of the Rings.
And the matrix trilogy? Are you guys serious? Don't get me wrong, the first Matrix is my favorite movie of all time, but the last two sucked.
solidfox - March 16, 2008 09:18 PM (GMT)
From the list here, I'm going with LoTR. But in all honest, my favorite isn't even on the list...which is a big shock cause it is probably one of the biggest most popular movies of all time...adding up with Star Wars on that list. I'm of course talking about Terminator. While I'm not a big fan of part three, part one and two more then held up its own enough to earn it the title of best.
BigBoss14 - March 17, 2008 01:49 AM (GMT)
Matrix I would say the Godfather but the 3rd one blew.
Helikaon - March 17, 2008 01:52 AM (GMT)
I wouldn't say that.
It's a brilliant film, but it pales in comparison to first two.

You do know that there's a Terminator 4 comming right??? So it wouldn't be a trilogy.
solidfox - March 17, 2008 01:32 PM (GMT)
You do know its not out right now though? So it is a Trilogy. Also, you do know they aren't putting it with the others, kinda like the Stars wars type thing and it will be its own other Trilogy.
jonhou - March 17, 2008 01:44 PM (GMT)
So I guess that's why they call it Terminator FOUR
solidfox - March 17, 2008 01:49 PM (GMT)
Are you truly trying to make an useless argument dude? Look it up if you don't believe me. They have said it is going to be a whole other trilogy. The movie hasn't even been put into production yet, and T4 is just to state that another Terminator movie is coming out.
But I guess you'll ignore the title of Star Wars IV, V, and VI as well and not consider that another Trilogy...but oh gee, it is stated as another trilogy...what a conundrum...

Yeah, because I bet they would make a Pirates movie without him. Good thinking.
[Insert sarcasm into that sentence so johou can better understand it.]
jonhou - March 17, 2008 02:23 PM (GMT)
I'm not sure about what you mean about the Star Wars comment, but I consider the Star Wars movies as a hexology.
Edit: @skywalker: I'm don't know if you're being sarcastic, but if you were then look at T4; Arnold isn't in it.
Edit 2:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terminator_(s...s)#Terminator_4 that's what I could find on T4 (and I know it's wiki so I'm not sure I should trust it) and it says it takes place after the events of T3.
skywalker - March 17, 2008 02:30 PM (GMT)
Please don't compare terminator to pirates of the caribbean. A pirates of the Caribbean would be star wars without anakin skywalker/darth vader. Its just wont happen. And if you think it will you have delusions of grandeur.
jonhou - March 17, 2008 02:32 PM (GMT)
I didn't say it would be a good movie without Johnny Depp.

Even if YOU believe Star Wars to be that, fact is it is considered to be two trilogies.
Anyway, simply cause you couldn't find the common info on Terminator coming out with another Trilogy, doesn't mean it isn't.
But anyway, you seem like the type that'll argue with me that grass isn't green...cause dead grass can be yellow...

Haha thats what I was wondering about
The Godfather wins hands down. 3 wasen't amazing but it was still a good movie, it's not Coppollas fault it hard the two single best films of all time to live up too. He did fuck up putting his daughter in a main role though, she is such a shite actor.
Btw LOTR is one of the most overatted movie franchise ever.
The Departed - March 17, 2008 04:46 PM (GMT)
godfather would win if the 3rd one didn't suck so much cock.
the winner in my eyes is the bourne trilogy. all 3 were great and the last one was the best of the three. not too many trilogies can say that
but for some reason it's not on there so godfather for the win.
King Snake - March 17, 2008 05:48 PM (GMT)
The Lord of the Rings trilogy beats it, but close to it is the Pirates of the Carribean tilogy :D
Sn4ke - March 17, 2008 05:51 PM (GMT)
The Godfather trilogy hands down. It's a way of life.

From what I understood from your post was that you asked me if I considered the Star Wars movies was two trilogies or a hexology. So that was just a misunderstanding.

Who thought it was a good idea to make the voting poll a "only pick one" poll? I would say both PotC trilogy and the Star Wars Original Trilogy.
Cardboard Box Junkie - March 18, 2008 04:30 AM (GMT)
You obviously didn't read very thoroughly:
| QUOTE (Wiki Article - Terminator 4) |
| On May 9, 2007, it was announced that rights to the Terminator series had passed hands from producers Andrew G. Vajna and Mario Kassar to The Halcyon Company and Derek Anderson. In the Variety article detailing the purchase, it states the fourth film will focus on a 30-year old John Connor in what the producers hope will be a new trilogy. Series creator James Cameron is currently not involved with the project;[15] however, he did encourage McG on the project.[11] |

That could mean the same thing. Why would you sit through the best movie of all time and not like it? Exactly.

How about removing your head from your sphincter and then posting?
Which is the best and which do you like are not the same thing.
Let me give you an example so you can understand this obviously complex concept:
Let's say the subject is the game Grand Theft Auto.
Now . . . I like all of the GTA games, they are great.
However, I would say the best is Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. I'm not saying the rest are shit, just that this one is the best.

There's an obvious difference. The thread has asked you which is the best trilogy of all time? Not, "what trilogies do you like?"
