Title: Rainbow Six: Vegas 2
Description: Official Chat Topic.

Snake Liquid - December 15, 2007 12:06 AM (GMT)
Alright, so anyone that played the amazing Rainbow Six: Vegas, knows that the game ended in a cliff hanger. The conflict wasn't resolved.

Anyways, Ubisoft and Tom Clancy games announced that they have started making Rainbow Six Vegas 2. It's again set in Vegas, with new visuals and more game play techniques. This is guaranteed to be an amazing game, since I thought the first was really good. It's set to release March of next year.

Enjoy!

it should be great, hopefully they improve on the ps3's graphics and Load times. R6V was awesome and i'm lookign forward to this one.

Gene - December 15, 2007 12:59 AM (GMT)
Shweet man i wanted another one to come out that will keep me ocupied for another couple of months.

Helikaon - December 15, 2007 01:24 AM (GMT)
Lets hope they bring the Chavez and Clark duo back, Logan annoyed the hell out of me, even more than Captain Scott "I love America" Mitchell from GRAW...

Snake Liquid - December 15, 2007 01:27 AM (GMT)
They won't be bringing back Chavez. I really liked him, but he is Rainbow Six now. He took over John Clark's position, so he runs Rainbow.

I liked Logan. He was a new team leader, and it was just a fresh start. My guess, is it is going to be the same three as in the last game. Hopefully they will add a fourth member to a team, because most Rainbow games have a four man team, not three.

I have a lot of expectations:

-I'm also hoping for more street levels. I want a better chance to use the sniper rifles. In the first game, snipers were pointless, except for online.

-I hope for more weapons as well. I love the selection, but they don't even have an M4 or M16. Albeit those guns aren't generally used by special operatives, they are really good guns.

-Better customization online. I liked the original's customization, but you really don't get anything good until you get officer ranks, and that is hard to do. I also hope they add more head styles, and possibly have hair. There were only a few heads available, and I thought they all looked stupid except for the first one.

Helikaon - December 15, 2007 02:15 AM (GMT)
Well if you wanted a real Tom Clancy RAINBOW team it would be an 8 man team not including Chavez. 6 Riflemen and 2 Long Riflemen with Bill Tawney on comms (i.e. "Affirmative, confirmed" etc) and "5" (Alistair Stanley) as field commanding officer rather than "6" (Clark)

Seems they forgot about the other 17 or so members of RAINBOW when they first designed the series, I believe only Chavez, Dieter Weber and Louis Loiselle have featured in the games before Vegas.

Should be a good game regardless Vegas was fast and frantc and also very hard, I remember being stuck on the Dantes Casino level for days.

But I'll always prefer the novel over the games.

Yackemflaber - December 15, 2007 05:23 AM (GMT)
ill probably sell the first one if I buy the second

iAn - December 15, 2007 06:34 AM (GMT)
I was really hoping it wouldn't be in Vegas...

...maybe a shootout in the Rainbow headquarters or something...

But who knows...

Its gonna kick ass regardless.

wolfie - December 15, 2007 05:28 PM (GMT)
the game play in vegas is almost perfect, but i did not liked because the story is stereotipical and stupid. And if you are latin American like me is ofensive up to sertain degree. How come the are no latinos in the rainbow six team. Any way I might buy it use or rent the game.

Liquidus_Snake - December 15, 2007 05:38 PM (GMT)
i never got a chane to buy the first one, but played some co-op on my mates xbox on R6 VEGAS and surprisingly liked it :)

i was gona buy the first one, but now i've heard this news, i think i'll wait out my time untill number 2 :)

and great news its released so early in March!!! (damn hows my wallet going to survive next March  )

MGS4_Raiden - December 15, 2007 05:55 PM (GMT)
Hopefully more unlockables this time, and more ranks. XD

Gene - December 15, 2007 05:57 PM (GMT)
Yeah since your already an elite >_>

Snake Liquid - December 23, 2007 07:45 PM (GMT)
So I found out that it is not going to be Logan that you play as in R6V 2. It's going to have the same two team members, Michael and Jung, but it's going to be led by some new soldier. The game is going to start out before the events of R6V, and then after R6V. I was disappointed that it isn't going to be Logan. I liked him. Maybe they will switch it out last minute and have him in it again.

iAn - December 23, 2007 10:48 PM (GMT)
I liked Logan too but I'm also a huge fan of creating your own character and how they look.

So thats a plus for me.

SolidSnake52 - December 24, 2007 12:03 AM (GMT)
Le w00t! I hope the sequel doesn't go down the drain. BTW Isn't MGS4 coming out in March?

Uh... your boss is Domingo Chavez... hero of the past R6 games.

Snake Liquid - December 24, 2007 01:58 PM (GMT)
@wolfie: I don't know why you are offended. They have three guys on the team, and two of them aren't American. Besides, if you play any of the past Rainbow Six games, (Rainbow Six Raven Shield) you will see the wide diversity of the Rainbow members. Snake is not Latin American, and neither are any of the goons that he faces. Is that going to prevent you from playing MGS?

Anyways, @iAn: I'm not sure if you CAN customize your actual soldier you play as in single player. I think he is just a new recruit to the Rainbow team, not someone you just create.

Helikaon - December 24, 2007 03:34 PM (GMT)
I've heard rumors it's a lass' but you can choose between her and Logan and their outfits are customizable.

But I wouldn't hope for anything beyond a variation on urban camo and ninja overalls.

Snake Liquid - January 12, 2008 12:17 AM (GMT)
BUMP

So I guess the game is going to be starring a guy named Bishop. From what I've read, you were right Heli, you will have the option to customize him.
There is a new video that they released. It starts out the same as the first one released, but they continues on.

Yackemflaber - January 12, 2008 04:23 AM (GMT)
Doesn't excite me too much, I don't like seeing all these pre-rendered trailers. I wanna see how/if it's going to IMPROVE

Snake Liquid - January 18, 2008 08:17 PM (GMT)
I'm gonna bump this topic up again.

Anyways, I just recieved this month's gameinformer. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 was featured in a two page story. Anyways, it looks like we are getting some new weapons. The screen caps show the L85A2, Tar 21, and the FNC all of which are veterans of previous R6 games. It looks really cool. Also, the story says that they are including the SR-25 sniper rifle, as well as the M468 assault rifle. This should be a great game.

Apparently, there is going to be 16 new multiplayer maps, some of which are revised Raven Shield maps. Anyways, you are going to be able to completely customize your character for the single player. Whatever you want to look like is what you will look like. 11 new weapons. The Co-Op feature is going to be fixed. The entire story will still be there, include all the dialogue and even if you are playing split screen, you can still control your two other squad members.

Helikaon - January 18, 2008 08:20 PM (GMT)
We're getting an SA80? (well a variant, but it's built off the same weapon)

Sounds pretty cool, I was rather disappointed by the weapons in Vegas.

Yackemflaber - January 18, 2008 10:21 PM (GMT)
there's been a dev interview thing on gametrailers where they show some gameplay which is actually getting me interested in this game

Solid Snake The Great - January 18, 2008 10:33 PM (GMT)
I'll get this game 'cos I loved the first one, and I really want to see how the story concludes. I really hated not knowing what happened in the end, but being left with confirmation of a sequel half made up for it. Plus, if the game is as good as the first, I'll love it like I'd love a puppy.

Pricey - January 19, 2008 02:54 PM (GMT)
I think I might go and get the first one, because people are always saying its worth it, and its quite cheap now.

Snake Liquid - January 19, 2008 06:17 PM (GMT)
It is worth it dude, if not for just the single player. The multiplayer is good, but the single player is where it's at in my opinion. It's really good and has good squad based gameplay. Besides that, the cover system is better than any other game that I've seen.

Pricey - January 19, 2008 09:07 PM (GMT)
Well, i'll take your word for it also. I picked it up online for around 12 quid.

That's a steal for such a quality game. You'll love it. Besides, you won't be able to follow R6V2's story unless you play R6V, so you might aswell give it a shot.

Hmm, not sure how much that is. I got mine from Gamestop for about 29.99$ a long time ago. It was shortly after they released it for the PS3. They had mismarked the price so I got it really cheap. Anyways, it is a great single player game. There are so many good features:

-Great squad based action
-Cover system. Switch from an FPS to a 3rd person against the wall cover system.
-Customizable weapons. Anything from RDS, laser sights, acog scopes, 6x scopes
-Silencer on most weapons. In game, you can open a window and manually put on and take off a silencer on nearly every weapon (except the snipers/LMG's/ and a few pistols). It's really handy. Not only do you not have to use a silencer as your attachment (you get it no matter what) but you can take it on and off whenever you want.
-Wide selection of weapons. There are lots of guns to choose from
-2 primary/1 secondary.
-Thermal/Night vision goggles.

Overall, it is a really good game. One of the best games I've played to date.

snakeinthegear - January 21, 2008 04:56 PM (GMT)
I got R6V for £6. Great game. I can't wait for Vegas 2 and Far cry 2 to come out. Both games look amazing.

Yackemflaber - January 30, 2008 09:54 PM (GMT)
[slight bumpage]
I finally beat R6V for my PS3 and I must say:
that was one of the worst attempts at a plot twist I've ever seen. We were betrayed by some jackass I don't think even appeared in the game before. How are we supposed to feel like "OMG WTF?" if we don't have any idea who the guy is that betrayed us?
oh well I'll probably get the second one anyway

Snake Liquid - January 30, 2008 10:00 PM (GMT)
You were betrayed by Gabriel... He was the guy that was on your team in Mexico, and was then captured. He's the guy you rescued in the casino that lived. He's the guy that nearly the entire game was about. Logan was working to rescue Kan and Gabriel, his first teammates, and going after Irena.
I don't know what your talking about. I thought it was a good plot twist. maybe you should have payed more attention to the story.

sadistic_greyfox - January 30, 2008 10:00 PM (GMT)
Remember at the start of the game when your
Ambushed and they kidnapped your two teammates? Well he was one of them, the same guy you rescued in that Dante's casino.
the story wasn't the greatest but the online is where the game shines.

really? that's who it was? okay then I guess I'm an idiot

I finally beat one of those solo the other day on the LVU campus level on low enemy density and regular difficulty.

and it was still as hard as a bizznitch

Snake Liquid - January 30, 2008 10:21 PM (GMT)
The shotgun and P90 work really well at the LVU campus. When you spawn, run up the stairs and use the shotgun to clear out all the people there, then sit behind the desk with the P90 and people will continue to come in the doors, just blast them with it. When they are done coming, you'll have to go clear out the rest. By the time all that's done, there usually isn't more than 5 guys left.

Pricey - January 30, 2008 10:45 PM (GMT)
Ive started playing the first now. Just doing the first mission.

LarryTermite - January 31, 2008 07:02 AM (GMT)
I'm still playing the first game, its pretty good. I like the way that it has changed from, the shoot a guy a million times until he dies, to the more realistic style of fighting where when you get hit, you die, because it allows you to be tactical the way you would have to be in real life to survive a gun fight, hiding behind walls and stuff, really fun, will most likely buy this sequel.

Pricey - February 3, 2008 01:41 PM (GMT)
Something I noticed: It asked me to update when I first played the game. Then when I first got to Vegas, I noticed posters advertising the recently released "The Kingdom" movie. Is that what the update was? To advertise in-game?
