Title: are you still exited about killzone 2?
Description: Is hard to remain exited

wolfie - March 29, 2008 07:20 PM (GMT)
Well with the resent rumor of a release date and the subsequent pseudo denial by Guerrilla my hopes for killzone 2 are fading away. I am worried that what was innovating when the game started development is common now (like the cover system), I still like the general art design and the greedy feel of the game, a contrast for the regular sci-fi where all is bright now a days (Halo). I am still exited, but not for long.

Aquila - March 29, 2008 08:24 PM (GMT)
I was never excited about it. I tell you know that it will, if lucky, be above the average shooter. From what I've seen there is no innovation to the series just another sci-fi shooter with good graphics.

Midna - March 30, 2008 12:36 AM (GMT)
its funny you brought this up, i had been thinking about the game for a while now and have been waiting for some new info or a release date. So isnt this game coming out in april or what?

Yackemflaber - March 30, 2008 02:13 AM (GMT)
I'm still pretty pumped despite the fact that I have no clue if it's gonna be good or not

Snake Liquid - March 30, 2008 03:04 AM (GMT)
I'm not all that excited anymore. With games like COD4, and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 to keep me busy now, I really don't need much until MGS4. There are so many games coming out that I'd like to have, that Killzone 2 isn't on my high list, especially since I couldn't force myself to finish the first one.

Helikaon - March 30, 2008 05:20 AM (GMT)
I'm still as excited, I loved Killzone. I loved pretty much everything about it: the setting, the characters (especially Hakha, voiced by Sean Pertwee), I loved the weapons and the sound. I didn't care if it wasn't a "Halo beater", if you base your expectations of a game on whether or not it's going to 'beat' another you haven't looked hard enough at what the game offers.

With Killzone 2 I'm expecting more of the same. The new character sounds damn cool, his name (Sev) used to be my online handle so I'm pretty happy about him, plus Rico is back so it gives me hope that the original team can make a return. Should be good.

monkeymaguire - March 30, 2008 01:42 PM (GMT)
i had the first one but never finished it, the wax coating of a baby bel cheese got stuck on the CD and just wouldnt come off haha, now i've lost the cd... ah well, from what i played though it was pretty cool, good idea and nice gameplay and all that, i liked how you could choose which team member u wanted to play as too, reminded me of Teenage mutant ninja turtles on the NES haha, only problem was those damn helghast (sp?) repeating the same phrases again and again... hopefully this time they'll have a bit more to say. that and the game in general was kinda repetitive, if they do somethin to change it now and then and break up the shooting with some seriously kickass cutscenes or vehicle driving (even though it usualy sucks in FPS's) or quicktime scenes or sumthin like that, that'd be good, but yeah im pretty excited for this also. The helghast have the most bad ass character design ever. wouldnt mind playing as a helghast for some levels too, to see their point of view on the war and stuff

The predictions put the game release in September of this year.

Draketopher - March 30, 2008 02:49 PM (GMT)
I'm going to buy it. As soon as there is an official date I'm running to GameStop with a fiver. I didn't like the first Killzone too much. but back then I wasn't that big on shooters. Now I am. I should go replay it, anyways. Yeah I'm still pumped for it but the absence of news and things like that make it die a little for me but yeah, still.

Ghost Sniper - March 30, 2008 03:07 PM (GMT)
First one sucked huge balls. I seriously don't see what's so hyped up about the second one other than that CG "in-game" trailer they showed at TGS 06.

Midna - March 30, 2008 04:06 PM (GMT)
i thought the first game was fun. Believe it or not but my favourite part of that game was the voices (kind of like what Helikaon said) like when the helgast guys are talking and you can hear their voices filtered through their helmets. I found that so badass. The game had a really cool vibe too.

Frank Jaeger - March 30, 2008 04:11 PM (GMT)
Well from all the effort and money they are putting into this game, it could be a triumph. The game has been hyped to be 'Revolutionary' so I am expecting big things.

cosmic master - March 30, 2008 05:20 PM (GMT)
i never plyed the first game and i cant really say im all that fussed about this one.
although when it comes out if theres a lot of good things being said about it then ill buy it but until then im just gonna wait for resistance 2 to come out :D now that was a good game and 2 sounds even better
resistance 2 preview

Roy Campbell - March 30, 2008 06:44 PM (GMT)
Meh. Its going to be a good game and I am most probably going to get it, but i'm not super hyped about it.

There are plenty of other great games coming out that I am more looking forward to.

wertwhile - March 30, 2008 08:03 PM (GMT)
I was never excited, when i played killzone one to be honest I didn't like the game too much same old same old.

Johnyman - March 30, 2008 08:07 PM (GMT)
The first wasn't exactly ground breaking, but I mostly enjoyed it. It's graphics were good, only the FPS bugged me. It dropped to lower than 20 in some scenarios.

The gameplay was decent, fun, albeit a bit hard. Overall it was a good game that attracted too much criticism due to it being hyped as a ''Halo Killer''*.

The second should be better all around, but I doubt it will revolutionize anything, mainly just give more to the fans of the first.

* I found Halo to be the most retarded game ever. Nuff said.

KALASHsixtynine - April 3, 2008 01:03 PM (GMT)
Im still excited, it has fadded, but I love Killzone, for the general feel of the enviornment, and the realistic sights. I enjoy dystopian landscapes dotted with ruins and poc-marks from battles past. And the colors...the colors of Killzone 2 are beautiful.

I agree with you Johnyman, The first was great but had issues, still fun none the less, but could have been better, in addition, I never found any of the 3 halo games to be of suitable fun, while I've played them mostly though (save for the third one completely) I never got much enjoyment from them, yeah a few hours of multiplayer with buddies and system link, but nothing more...Too cartoony, too streamline, too played out, as are most FPS games anymore...sadly.

WHiTeFaLCoN - April 3, 2008 05:31 PM (GMT)
I was but not as much now. This is due to two reasons:

1) Fed up of waiting for it

2) Haven't got a PS3 (yet).

LarryTermite - April 4, 2008 09:59 AM (GMT)
I was never really excited about it but I will probably play it, looks pretty good, but i'm not anticipating its release, when it comes out it comes out and if I have the money and still reckon its a good game then i'll buy it.

Ghost Sniper - April 4, 2008 05:07 PM (GMT)
Was never excited about Killzone 2 and probably never will.

The Snake - April 27, 2008 07:14 PM (GMT)
I hope this to be better than first one.

357revolver - April 28, 2008 09:41 PM (GMT)
im not as excited about it when i first heard about it, but i will pick it up when it comes out

g-fox - April 29, 2008 12:00 AM (GMT)
