there is not much hope for you to fix it yourself buddy, but there are 3 steps to take for fixing any sort of problem.
- first you have to ring up Sony customer service and tell them about the problem Quoting "the error code" listen to what they tell you to do then try doing it. (have you PS3 at hand on in the same room you are calling from as they tend to give you step by step instructions... if they can that is)
- if the problem persists then you have to arrange for a repair or replacement with you local retail store that you bought it from.
- if you dont have warranty with the store you will have to send it to Sony for repairs or replacement.
that is pretty much (SOP) the process with every problem.

Ok, so its customer services and not technical then? Just amusing myself with MGS1 at the moment, still plays that at least.

Im not sure but I believe sony fixes problems for free (I know they did for me, with PS2/PSP) but if it's completely screwed then so are you. Your system still works, so your in the green.

it seems like you just have a problem with the BLuray lens if PS1 and 2 and DVDs work , it would mean its a manufacturing technical fault on their part so you would get free fix for fit unless youve gone over the year warranty

Call Of Duty 4 has caused this problem on alot of Ps3's, not just yours. IW fail to take any sort of responsibility for it though.
Something needs to be done about it though, that's for sure. It's a slim chance of it happening, so I guess you were unlucky.

My PS3s working perfectly again, hopefully that's the end of it. As I say that it breaks again.
