When I copy and paste the URL of a picture into my avatar, it comes up:

this menu is disabled.

Am I doing anything incorrectly?

The board doesn't support HTML, mate; just jam the URL in and you should be fine.

In Photobucket just click on "Direct Link" and paste it and your av should work ^_^.

Oh, sorry, that's what I meant. When I put the URL in, it comes up this menu is disalbled. I don't know why I said HTML... :rolleyes:

What exactly are you putting in? Are you sure the image type is supported?

I copy and paste the URL, and yes, the image type is supported. Tis very frustrating...

It might help if you gave us the link to the image. Or you could try re-hosting it somewhere and using the link it would give you.

That's not an image link, I'm afraid. It's a dynamic URL (note the '?'), which IF doesn't allow. If you want the image, right-click, save it to your computer, and then upload it to somewhere like IsaraPIX.

Thanks, guys, much appreciated, but I am simply too incompetant on computers...I tried Cobb's method, but got all mixed up etc.
I'm bloody useless...

Enter the URL you had into your browser and click enter. Right click on the image when it comes up and click Save Picture As. Save it to My Pictures. Go to IsaraPix and upload the image. Get the URL and use that in your Control Panel to get your avatar.

I did that, and it still isn't working. Thanks, guys, but I am too incompetant...

Try this then. I done everything for you, so all you need to do is put it in as your avatar.

Indeed, just paste the following into the Avatar section of your member control panel.

Enter a URL to an online avatar image:

And then hit 'Update Avatar.'

And just in case you're unsure which box to paste it in, it'll be the top one in this image (where my URL is):
