Title: What are you fighting for?

Hey there. I was playing Metal Gear Solid again. And I came to the cutscene where sniper wolf dies. Otacon sais to Snake: "What are you fighting for?"
Snake sais: "If we'll make it through this, I'll tell you."
So my question is. Does he actually tell it? Cuz I can't remember it. :unsure:

he was only fighting to survive before, but towards the end he started fighting for a life.

Solid Snake explained his cause to Raiden in this way:-

He was fighting for life itself, before he just fought to cover himself and survive, now He is fighting for and identity and life in general, and most likely for the people he befriended I.e Meryl,otacon,campbell, And the memory of frank after he died at liquids hands.
Anyhow this is what I believe. The identity part I mentioned came from the liquid-Solid Convo about having no past, and no future, and the fact liquid told him he doesnt even have a real name.

I think he explained this to meryl when he said that he always fought for his life, in war he only thinks of surviving.
