The special edition comes out 1 day after the normal one, and it's 85 dollars, including 4 chapters of the graphics novel, art book, soundtracks and the making of mgs4 for 25 dollars more...I know I'm only getting the normal edition...

Don't worry dude My sources say the same thing as well so it's pretty much true that this is the final boxart. I like the simplicity of it, just snake's face but sort of a throw back to the original.

I'm getting the US version too, I like it a little better then the PAL. This would be the PAL version.. ;)

The main reason I like the U.S version, is because, it looks so real! If you don't agree, you need glasses...

Also I gotta say, I think the PAL case looks the best. Nice and shadowy.

the European and Japanese are ownage compared to the U.S. one,it looks real as hell but it sucks,not only that but placing the mgs4 text on snakes face doesn't sit well with me as a graphics artist

Why this has to be the European boxart? To tell you the truth I didnt like it. I prefer the Japanese one. Couldnt they come out with a more realistic and close to the MGS theme boxart. I hope this isnt the official release (although the topic says otherwise). Now I'm sad and angry as well. :( :angry:

True, the Japanese one is the best from the 3. Though the European one is still great.

I like the American one the most - has the most meaning to me, since you can see Snake's actual face and how old he looks with the wrinkles, etc. There's also a look in his eyes of damned warrior who'll fight to his death... kinda saddening in its effect.

I'm not surprised at the European/PAL boxart, though, considering it's always been drawn work.

Believe it, shawty. That face is so realistic is looks like it's going to melt into a puddle or something. Though box art tends to change before the final release...

I heavily prefer the EU version. The American box art, isn't really art, more like a 'boxface'. The Japanese version is good, but I prefer the red light picking out certain areas of the hand which aren't visible in the Japanese version.

Yeah... the coloring really does help out the EU version. Plus it seems to stand out a little more from the background than the Japanese one...

I think the US one was a bit of a lazy effort, IMO. It's the kind of boxart that can be created from speculation, seeing as it's only a Render of Snake's face.

The EU one is much better, seeing as it's more original and follows on from the tradition of all EU boxart being drawn by Shinkawa.

I still prefer the japanese. It has a much darker feel to it, and much more like MGS to me.

I agree, the EU boxart looks the best to my eyes. Good to know that I'll get that one if I decide to get the game some day. The U.S boxart isn't that great, but I guess it's fine that way too.

Boxart continues the only good perk us Europeans get out of the MGS series..our cover is kickass. I'd be torn between that one and the Jap one.

The yank one sucks in my opinion..way too simplistic, looks like someone just got a render and slapped it on a dark background..

The European boxart is the second one. At the middle. It has the title above "VS European".

The US one sucks but luckly the EU cover is awesome, its my favorite of the 3, it continues on the tradition of PAL boxarts - which I HIGHLY prefer over the crappy U.S boxarts.

It seems our boxart always rocks compared to U.S boxart, just take FF for example.

I really dont like the American one, but you never know if it is the official box art or not. Personally i love the EU one. It sticks out waaaayyyy better.

the US cover cant be official, the MGS4 logo text is way too small. not good marketing strategy i say (what is that game? the one with an old man's face on the cover?)

Agreed the UK Final Fantasy Covers are Beautiful, The plain white with bold, underlined, contrasting text with a light colourful image in the middle, true class

Yeah it is pretty sweet, for its day, which they didn't have nearly as much awesome technology that could convert it into something that looks like the United States MGS4 Box Art. But then again, the plain version is pretty sweet. Still nothing compared to the U.S version of the MGS4 Box Art. Yeah I think it's sweet.

wow, if this is reliable, we got screwed over. The european one is sick. I'll be getting the special edition anyways...

U.S is definetly the best out of those 3, I dont really like the european version though.
