Ok one of the guys who played MGS4 all the way through mentioned a cutscene that he thought was the greatest scene he has ever seen. Now what could this be do you think? I think it may be a huge battle (Lord of the rings anyone?) that lasts for a good 15 minutes.

What are your thoughts?

This isn't really a theory, so I'll just move it along.

Something to do with Raiden I think. The Gray Fox Vs. REX battle is commonly regarded as one of the greatest cutscenes ever (because of the level of interactivity and general all round kick ass nature) and in my honest opinion the snippet of NinjaRaiden fighting Vamp and the GEKKOU (both the E3 2006/Middle East and TGS 2007/South America versions) surpasses the original cutscene.

Something near the end I'm guessing.

My bets are on Snake's death. Both Snakes, Solid and Liquid. What can honestly be more epic than the death of a much loved hero after fighting valiantly and killing the Antagonist?

That or a death of another character such as Raiden or Naomi. Deaths always equal cutscene gold, just look at Aeris' death.

I'd guess a death scene as well. While I'm sure the Raiden - Vamp Fights will be epic and all...just can't compare to en emotional death ride. Many people get sad at the end of a 2 hour movie they've just scene...well imagine the death of a game that has been around for 20 years. Much more emotional...like truly losing a friend or loved one.

Maybe the cutscene where the two MG's fight (Rex and Ray). I think its going to be awesome. (if that part is a cutscene and not in gameplay, which I doubt).

that dude didn't specify the type of contents within the cut scene, he didn't say if it was the best because of Action or emotional or shock n awe! if it had all three of those it probably would be the best ever ever.

i would say something involving Snake, Liquid, Meryl and some giant 'fucking' robots!

Some of these cutscenes are over 15 minutes long, to me it already sounds awesome. I bet it's a fight scene or emotional scene, as those truly are the best MGS scenes ever.

Well I think its action, sounds like he was talking about the visual aspect of the cutscene and not the emotion and depth in it. The scene could very well have both though.

I don't think it will be a 1 v 1 fight, betting its something more along the lines of Arsenal Gear crashing into New York (that we never got to see).. Not actually a Metal gear crashing lol, but something on that scale thats right out in the public's face. Think Liquid's army launching a very dramatic and high tech invasion.

Yeah well 9/11 had just happened...

They were originally going to show more, for example the Statue of Liberty was going to be crushed and a better idea of what got "taken out" and showing some chaos and general gribbly death, but they decided to cut it all out. But basically a good part of downtown Manhattan would have been taken out (the World Trade Center for sure).

I'm thinking, just by the way the guy talked, is that this cutscene will be kick ass in a way you're not feeling like you're being spoon feed crappy and generic banters comprised of numerous one liners. Which while the series had never really done this, it’s always something to fear.

If it’s one of the best action cut scenes ever, then my money is on that it involves Snake and Liquid duking it out that one last time. If it’s playing on the emotional key, well then all I can say is I will cry. A lot. Because MGS does that to me. A lot.

I'm really looking forward to this cutscene. I really wasn't surprised though when he said that. I would be doubtful if there wasn't amazing cutscenes in mgs4

I don't doubt that the scene will be the greatest in video game history. I think it will be seriously long, with shocks and epicness along the way, with at least one character being killed.

true but with the new feature to change angles on vids like assasins creed. it kinds gives you the feel that your more in control like a director or sorts. i like this idea some scence had the wrong angle so it's great that we can come up with our own veiwing experience

I have always envisioned it as a huge epic battle. Kind of like the last battle in Saving Private Ryan where it ends up with Snake Dying or something.

I think there will be so many good cutscenes that we wont know which one it is lol.

Snakes death, or big revelation that shows fast flashback from throughout the series, Or maybe snake meets big boss redone from nes games.

I'm really hoping for something cool. Something great would be Solid Snake battling by fists with Liquid Ocelot and next to them Raiden battlig Vamp. In the backgrounds, some tremendous battle human and artillery VS machines (Gekkhous). Then, Raiden kills Vamp but is too weary to do anythig. Then Solid kills Liquid and all the Gekkhous fall dead because of the SOP system and humans are freed from Liquids control. Then it turns to emotion. Raiden is dying and so is Snake, Meryl, Ed and Jonathan are probably injured too.

of those already out, i think gray fox killing all those people before going after otacon. i love that one, or gray fox batteling rex. of those to come, i'm guessing snakes death, and if there is one, i'm rooting for the battle of SS & BB in nex-gen graphics. AWESOME!

he's probably talking about the lame cut scene of vamp vs. gay boy raiden. whoopee!
