Have you ever heard anyone say MGS4 sucks?

Well to think about it i would say no, this truly illuminates that this game will be BIG MASSIVE hit, i cant wait for this game....

No I've never heard of anyone telling this and if someone does I have pretty damn reasons to convise him otherwise.

Plenty of times on Xbot forums and over in the 360 forums on GameTrailers.

For a variety of reasons:

• It looks bad
• It's Japanese
• The other games in the series suck
• It's gonna be too long
• It's not an FPS

I think the xbox fanboys comments would make a few people cry around here if they saw them.

Most gamers appreciate MGS for the amazing game it is though, regardless of which console they have it on.

Ive never seen a bad comment about MGS4 or any MGS

I don't mind if someone says they dislike Metal Gear. But one cannot -- with any knowledge of the series and what it has done for gaming as a whole -- say that Metal Gear and it's sequels " Suck ". At least, not with any credibility as a gamer.

This guy I knew once said that MGS was too tedious, overblown and a waste of time. He never completed MGS1, and gave none of the others a shot.

I wasn't really surprised since he's a die-hard FPS and GTA fanatic, and a guy who judges a video-game by the amount of blood-spilling and explosions it has.

Well at least he didn't get to MGS 2, it would have killed him.

Who? Kinda like everyone I know. No one I know likes MGS and I suppose me going on and on about how awesome it is, is probably pissing them off by now. Everytime I even utter the words 'Metal Gear Solid', I get told to 'shut the fuck up' and 'MGS is crap' ^_^ .

My dad, but only because he's devoted to his PC games and wanted to get a rise out of me. And it worked. :(

Only xbox fanbots who can barely type the English language. But I've seen a number of 360 guys comment on game sites that MGS4 is making them buy a PS3.

Just hope I don't hear any noobs complain about the long cut scenes and stuff once the game comes out. I don't use the word 'noob' very often but there is no proper alternative for it in this case.

One of my mates dislikes it because it's too Japanese. Besides where it's developed and any subtle jokes I hardly think it's too Japanese. I don't think I'm at liberty to explain why he dislikes Japan here. :P

Yes,at school once a time ago my friends taunted me by saying things like "MGS4 takes it up the ass" or "MGS4 sucks" but they have learned their lesson,I didn't kill them but they have a few bruises worth a story and now all they say is,"MGS4.....is awesome.

I hate the bullshit "XBOX Fan Aren't MGS Fans" Argument. "XBOX FAN DONT DESERVE MGS4 COS THEY DIDNT LIKE MGS2".

The original XBOX market doesn't equate to the 360 market. Not at all, no everyone is a fanboy who sticks to the same brand. I was a PS1 owner, a Dreamcast owner and a PS2 owner, and proud owners of those consoles. I never owned the original XBOX, I didn't feel I needed to, because it didn't really have any games which interested me which I couldn't get on the PS2.

However this time around I own a Wii and a 360, no PS3....because well, the PS3 wasn't out when I bought my 360 and I really don't have any aspiration to play any of the current PS3s games apart from Uncharted and of course MGS4....the 360 I think has a wider variety of games that appeal to me and the fact it's a more affordable console, so I don't regret my choice of purchasing the 360, I still think it's the best games console on the market, especially with XBOX Live which is fab, where as PSN isn't bad but is slightly disjointed in terms of features and it's not very robust. I'm one of many who feel like this, no not xbots, but people who had PS2s but not XBOXs who have chose the 360 this time around, a lot of those probably owned MGS and would love it to come to the 360, but they might not be big enough fans to buy the PS3 just for MGS, does that mean they don't deserve it? No, just that they don't feel like paying £300 for a game which is reasonable.

Personally I'd love for MGS4 to hit the 360, because at the moment it's the only game I can't get on my 360 which I want.....I'm not rich, I'm currently in between jobs so I can't afford to pay £300 for MGS4, I have other things to pay for (like the roof over my head)...so it'd be really handy if it did hit the 360. I'm pretty confident it will, but it'll most likely be the Substance type version, I dunno that's just a bit of guesswork on how well I know Konazi and their greedy shareholders. So don't tar every 360 owner with the same brush, a lot of them like me never owned the original XBOX but PS2s, they played and liked MGS but haven't really got the money to buy a PS3 for MGS4. If there's not 360 version in sight by Christmas I'll see what spare cash I have lying around and might treat myself to one of those Blu Ray players and MGS4!

I mainly hear that it's too Japanese for them. Nothign else really. And that it's onthe ps3

I hear it from people that are angry that MGS4 is not going to the 360 mostly. Although there will always be people who don't like a particular gaming series. I really would not care. I mean there are gaming franchises I like and dislike.

MGS is just one of those series where you have to take the time and get to know and truly appreciate how much freaking effort went in to them and how amazing the story is! I mean, it really is the ONLY reason I'm getting a PS3!!

I hear it all the time, from my brother who has gotten annoyed at me for speaking of MGS so much. As well as Brett Favre.

I am quite shocked these people are making these arguments against MGS. If you want an FPS, go play one and leave MGS4 alone. Such shallow gamers, to say things like that.
I am still looking forward to MGS4, which sometimes amazes even myself, I would take it over any FPS or GTA game.

Though having said that, I don't have massive expectations for this game, it seems every piece of news I hear is bad news, to me. The controls, the Drebin points, and all the weird changes that have only come since Payton's involvement. :angry:
I am quite confused why I still want this game quite a bit, though probably less than most on this forum. I am probably the closest thing you will get to those idiot fanboys here.

And sadly I know a lot about talking too much about it personally. Thankfully my friends put up with me. :P

Yes in fact I have. I've heard it from many people. Yeah, but then again, those people were all HALO fans...Then I make fun of them for not having a single decent 3rd person shooter on the 360...come to think of it, a single decent shooter on the 360. <_< idiots...PS3 FOR THE WIN!!! :D

CS 1.6 "IS THA SHIZ"!!! I own it, it's awesome, trust me, much better than any other FPS shooter, but nowhere near as good as MGS.

Let me get this straight... They have Halo 3 but not Call of Duty 4? Such a horrible lack of taste, if this is so then my noob-dar is going off like crazy.. Find new friends, or make fun of Halo 3 some more.

I've heard bad comments about MGS only in forums, blogs, etc. (never in real life), and most of those people are xbots, they say MGS sucks for several reasons:

1. Too much cutscenes and too long...
(you can just... skip them?)

2. It's not FPS...
(Killzone2, Resistance 1/2, Haze, etc. are FPS but Xbots still say these games suck, although Haze has not even been released yet)

3. MGS is like an Anime series...
(NOT TRUE, that's just stupid. Besides, Anime series are known due to their originality, so it wouldn't be a bad thing anyway)

4. It's Japanese...
(These guys probably don't like Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Tekken, Soul Calibur, Shadow of the Colossus, Devil May Cry, etc., I think these games are all made by Japanese companies, in other words... these guys don't have any taste in videogames!)

5. It's PS3 Exclusive...
(Don't worry! After 1 year or 2... or maybe a bit more, MGS4 shall be released in Xbox360, but don't forget! You still have to buy the Blu-ray player, and avoid the millions of spoilers! Great FUN!)

6. The camera sucks, the stealth gameplay is just boring...
(Everything will be different in MGS4! You can move the character during camera shoulder and first-person camera, and, FINALLY, free third-person camera; 70 guns or so that can be customized; close quarters combat)

7. MGS is EMO, and has too much philosophy...
(This is just ignorant, philosophy has to do with life experience, and anyone that has no emotions is a robot, at least this game is different from the majority and Kojima had the balls to do produce MGS4).

Well some people may consider me to be an xbot, considering I bought a 360 before my ps3. Not all xbox owners are assholes ;) just the ones who talk like this "HALO3 WOOOOO!" lol

I had each playstation console though, (kind of a tech freak) MGS has and will always be my favorite game series. Please don't judge the xbot oops sorry xbox community by listening to the freaks that even xbox owners hate. MGS4 looks better than any game I have seen yet for any console (excluding some future pc titles)

I can see them not liking the series, but saying it sucks...thats just purely biased. Oh, but I do love the arguement that its two Japanese...

Alot of my mates have played it in the past tend to find it too slow....but there not really into games at all apart from Need for Speed, Juiced *insert shit street racing game here*

Every time I show them a game trailer of MGS4 or talk to them about MGS4...I tend to get asked "Does it have any cheats?" or "When is it coming to PS2?"

In fairness, Halo 3 is also a great game if you're looking for a game that's fun and kills time easly.

I've only heard one person say MGS sucks. But he is a fat fuck so it didnt bother since he is a fat ass who cant get laid lol its all good.

Because, he's fat and may not be the best with the ladies, his opinion doesn't matter? I love MGS as much as the next guy, but that was a very immature thing to say.

Actually my big brother saying that MGS is a stupid game he's a Star Wars fan and play only Star Wars games where everyone only shooting.

It takes a more sensitive, deep thinking individual to be a true MGS fan in my opinion. It doesn't mean that someone who doesn't like it is stupid, it just means that it's a very emotional series that goes pretty deep.

Yes that's why he hates that game cos is very dramatic and he says that is very lame game.

In my opinion people who have played MGS and hate it are stupid, very shallow and have no intelligence or attention span, and people who haven't played it and hate it are just plain ignorant to anything but their own narrow mindedness, so when people say MGS sucks I dont get annoyed, or even care, I just pity them
