Anyway i think Home is gonna revolutionise console gaming and destroy the 360 aswell as xbox live if done correctly. I would just like to hear some thoughts on PS3's new online feature from you guys what do you think about it? are you gonna get it? who's gonna be pimp and spend real money on clothes and furniture or be a bum? are your avatars going to resemble you or are they gonna look like brad pitt and ang jolie? man i'm so excited bout home i can imagine a 3D MGSF on there you can do that admins if your reading, i just cant wait virtual myspace HA HA!

It's a sensationalized cash cow by and for Sony. They're making it sound like this completely awesome thing, but it's not.

The only thing about it that I would bother with is the Achievements ahem er "Trophy" system they are including and thats only because I would love to see Achi trophies for MGS4.

lol well at least ur not a fanboy so u think it's not going to be any fun? really? do you think it's not going to be how it portrayed on youtube and stuff. i mean considering it's free, i don't know why people hate on the idea i think sony are just trying to do something different and something that will give them an edge in the console war. Helikaon don't u think it would be cool to walk around with your friends, chat to them, show them ur vids and trophys, share content with them, make ur own space and invite ur friends over, ALL IN 3D!!. sims and 100,000,000X the fun if u ask me.
You do know that PS3 Home has been in the making since the realise of the PS2 but could not be realised cos of technical reasons so i think it was meant to be the original PSN but obviously they needed more time to work on it, sonys all about quality, PSN is not good enough xbox live kills it, i promise you helikaon once home comes you'll be wanting to do more than just get MGS4 trophys i can bet my life on it.

U really think its going to be 'sims and 100,000,000X the fun'.. walking around.. showing trophies to your friends, how long will that stay FUN.. i give it about a week til people realise, its nothing special.

i swear people just hate me on this site, well nothing maintains the same level of fun the more u use it unless it keeps changeing and guess what Home is going to be constantly changeing. a week!? A WEEK!? do u even know about home? u wont be able to do a 1/4 of the stuff u can on home in a week unless you have no life! ppl are still wanking over xbox live and thats nothing compared to Home.

We do not have achivment points in the PSN and no online bar while playing. You have to exit the game go to the menu and use the bar there. Very few friends options. No video on demand. can not copy images from the web. Yeah I think that is all the wrong things I can come up too. I hope Home will be more than a virtual life rip off.

I don't know what to think about Home, it's never really stuck out for me in my experience of interviews and reports of it. I'll just have to wait and find out. I hope it's not going to become a ruin which I think it will if comparing to the hype it's receiving.
Also who wouldn't prefer trophies to achievements. I've heard (still rumour) that there will a range of sizes for your trophies which you can get (lifesize to hand-size). Anyway I prefer the trophy method and also who cares if they got the idea from 360? It makes no difference as it works well and gives more appeal to games.

yeah if you go on youtube its shows a demo on how the trophy system works, type in ps3 Home trophy and it should come up.
The trophy room looks like the senate court in star wars lol now compare that to the 360's boring 2D interface

Err I could just go down the pub to do that, the only friends I had on my PS3 were friends of mine in the real world.

And I think theres a reason thats it's been in development for that long...

well i don't think u can show trophys and share contents down the pub. theres so much more u can do aswell and no way will u only have friends that live around u u gotta be blagging it was only a few months ago that u gave ur PSN ID 2 me so i can add u n i dnt live no were near you. the only ppl that say they prefer PSN over xbox live are ignorant fanboys or ppl that just wanna argue for the sake of it, uve obviously got a 360 and uve had a PS3 how can anyone who knows about both consoles online service say PSN is better, no way just read the posts above, just read all the reviews about XBL vs PSN XBL wins everytime but then again PSN is free but so is Home and we all know that kills XBL. i mean i dont really know y u prefer PSN and u don't come across as a PS3 or 360 fanboy but i guess its personal preference watever u like, but to me it's like saying i prefer a black and white tv over a colour 1 that's how ludacris it sounds u must be in the 5% of ppl that generally think PSN is better, crazy.

If this allows gamers more access to developers then I'm all for it. I'd love to be able to log on and go visit a virtual version of the KP studio and interact with the team. Granted it's slightly gimmicky but I think it's got a lot of potential of it's used correctly (namely not a PS version of Second Life >_>).

not being able to read ur messages whithin a game
needs alot more DLC more demo's and vids
cant see who you've been playing with after a match
u can only find friends on forums and websites and real life
and wen home comes out it will rectify all that and PSN will become the ultimate online service.
all reasons you mentioned about why you dont like Home are just ur own basically ur cons about Home are the majority of consumers pro's about it. and the reason about home not coming out on the ps2 is beacuse it was not powerful enough to handle it, u know the real time TVs and stuff. so sony just had a huge amount of time to evaluate and make it even more ambitious than intended for the ps3 hence the delays to spring 2008.

ofcourse most people are gonna get it "its free" and why not? since most of us payed a beefy price for the ps3 i think we all should, the only thing is that most people who have no life anyway outside of gaming would find a new one in there lol

Yes home was supposed to have a open beta late november early december but i heard there having problems with it, a couple of creases to smooth out.
Offical release date is spring 2008

When I get my Ps3 in 9 days, can some kind soul help me set up all this PSN stuff. I've got a wireless router already, I just want to know how to set shit up to get online.

Dya have a PSP Null? Cos if you do then its the exact same way. You scan for a network, Then choose yours, Enter the password [if it has one] and then it'll be set up.

Then go over to the network section of the XMB and choose "Setup a PLAYSTATION Network Account" Press X and then you fill out the forms

I think Home is gona be great and im fairly excited about it. I just can't see it being 1000000000000XXX!!!!!1ONE FUNN!!....if you want that stuff you might aswell play Second Life or some shite like that i suppose.....
I don't think its going to be large and vast enough to make it a huge gaming achivement, but yeah i'll probably use it all the time to go online with mates.

if you meet people in a game first you don't have to worry about going out to go find them,you can tell what their like then decide if your gonna be freinds and stuff then meet em in rl later after owning nubs in some mmo or something :o

The thing about that is, say for instance, all the friends on MGSF . Members here reach from parts of the USA that are hundreds of miles away to all the way to countries like South America, England, Finland and Australia. In a lifetime we most likely wont be able to visit those countries to meet up with our friends but Home allows us to communicate in a way we couldn't have before through things like MSN ETC before.

Just like any other messenger service there is a chance of Pedo's being online but that's exactly why you only add friends or talk to the member for a while then add them if your worried about pedos. I'm sure Sony has already said you can report people like that and they'll ban the account and IP.

well home is 10x more realistic compared to WII MII, and home was in development since the ps2 days so considering Wii wasn't out then can't be much of a rip off.

On youtube type in "phil harrison on home" and look for a video titled "playstation 3 -GDC 07 Phill Harrison (home) interview part.1" it should be the first one that comes up and almost straight away he begins talking about it being on the PS2 originally. Sorry i couldn't give u a link but i'm on my PS3 and i don't know how to do that on it. Get back to me after you've seen it and tell me what you think.

I'm fairly excited about Home. I don't have all that many expectations about it, but I also don't assume that it will be terrible. I'll probably just use it to talk with some people from here or from the Jackal Unit.
