Title: Equilibrium
The Black Devil Of Outer Heaven - April 26, 2008 04:33 PM (GMT)
This is an awesome movie that I just so happened to catch on the TV. It's got that "Utopia that needs to be destroyed" plot, So it's not tooo original I suppose, although it has to do with everyone not being able to feel anything, and they take drugs to prevent it. And it has some kick-ass and righteous battle scenes and everything. Anyone seen it? Comments?

Yeah, I just watched it again on T.V cause I wanted to view the direction of it. The director for this is doing Metal Gear Solid...tbh, that lets me down. The movie isn't 'bad' but by no means do I find it all to great. I was hoping for a better director for Metal Gear Solid. Lets hope he does a good job with it.
Was very funny to see this topic though, cause I was about to go to the casting discussion and bring this movie up about the director.

I saw this film years ago. The storyline was flawed before its execution. No emotion pretty much means you walk around like a zombie BUT the characters all expressed some sort of emotion while under the influence of the supressents but who cares right? It was a decent film and this was the film that spear headed christian bale as a fan favourite for the role of batman.

Yeah. I realized that it had come out awhile ago. But like I said, not a GREAT movie, but highly enjoyable, Didn't know that he was going to be the director of the Metal Gear Solid movie too.

I'm not even worried if he directs a MG movie because I thought UV was directed in a daring and brave kind of way but the screenplay sucked.

It makes me worried so much that he will direct it, cause if you check out his other movies as well (looking at you ultraviolet), they haven't been to great. And they are always way out there with the gun fights. So I'm worried that he will direct it more like Twin Snakes...with matrix types scenes where Snake is dodging bullets and jumping twenty feet in the air.

yeah ive seem it just hope he manage to create the essence and atmosphere of metal gear solid and the larger than life charectors.......lets hope it doesent turn out like that so tact on.........streetfighter, game to movie conversion

Its a pretty good film, but it is way over hyped by supposed "action lovers". The gun-kata is ridiculous and the plot barely sticks together. Its certainly watchable, but I would never choose this over other examples in the genre; in the same way I wouldn't choose Green Street over I.D.

if you like it (i dont know how)then sure..............each to their own i guess what i envisioned street fighter was just way more Coolier!

I actually enjoyed it. At the time I was in High school reading a book called "A Brave new World" the movie is very loosely based on it but because I enjoyed the book I enjoyed the slight nudges to the book that was in it. The Gun Kata was AWESOME, I only wish there was more moves with such bad ass gun fights.

Yeah, I noticed the Brave New World theme going on. And while I wasn't particularly interested in the book, I still noticed it going on there.
.....And the kick-ass gunfights don't hurt either. :P
