Title: Questions about Master
Description: Why is master helping Snake?
Tsuchinoko - April 27, 2008 02:26 PM (GMT)
Why is master helping Snake on MGS. I know he have to play along but why is he saying that those floors make sound and stuff. He could always play dumb or give him bogus strategies that will only get him killed or almost. Some of the things he said got me out of real trouble sometimes. Like when you are running out of life and it's alert while 4guards already are surrounding you and you only have like 10 shots in your socum and again without supressor.

I believe you already know Master Miller was in fact Liquid.
If Liquid gave wrong tactics or false directions to Snake, Snake would have noticed that something is wrong and probably discovering Miller's true identity. After all Master Miller is Snake's master so he probably knows him to well and if something wrong was said or done by Liquid's side Snake would have noticed it.
Also Liquid was using Snake in order to retrieve the PAL keys and activate MG Rex, so that's another reason he helped him in the first place.

^ Your are On the money with that dude. Those were the exact reasons why liquid didn't expose himself until the very end when he used snake up completely.

Kind of like a reversal of the role that Big Boss played in the later stages of Metal Gear; he gave false information and advice which led to some bad situations (one that pops to mind is advising Snake to go left instead of right, leading him to walk into a room full of scorpions). If "Master Miller" did the same thing, Snake (and us) would immediately cotton onto the truth and realize not everything is what it seems with Miller.

Master Miller was Liquid Snake, it's really that simple, but if you're aware of that then yeah, it would probably be obvious considering the accent and all.

Off course I knew that Miller was liquid. Master was already killed.
But what I meant was that if Solid Snake had a choice about where to go Master could say that he should go for example right and that would then be an ambush.
Like that bogus advices.

But Liquid wanted Snake alive so he could help Liquid wth his plans.

Liquid used Snake to activate Metal Gear, he knew that Snake was succeed in disposing of his Foxhound comrades and that was a chance Liquid was willing to take for his dream to become a reality.

Yup, especially as Liquid came up with the plan to use Snake to activate Metal Gear nuclear launching capability, of course he helped Snake.

Well, technically it was Psycho Mantis' idea to use Snake.
Remember the Psychic interference flashback just after you first meet Meryl?
---------------------
The Sons of Big Boss are all standing around the dead DARPA chief, who is on the torture bed.
Liquid: You fool! You've killed him!
Ocelot: I'm sorry sir.
Mantis: His mental shielding was very strong. I could not dive into his mind.
Liquid: Now we'll never get that detonation code!
Mantis: Boss! I have a good idea.
---------------------
This was quite obviously when the plan to use Snake was devised.

True, but no need to be so nitpicky!
The point is, that Liquid was using Snake all along. That's a reason good enough for him to help Snake.

Yeah. Sorry about that. Being very "nitpicky", as you called it, is one of my worst habits.

Haha, it's alright man, I'm actually very much the same on subjects I know a lot about :D
But everyone always hates it, have you noticed?
But I don't see it as a bad habit really, atleast it's definetly not one of my worst habits... Being overly arrogant is much worse... :haha:

lol. Yes, most people hate it (which annoys me, because normally when I do it, it's in an attempt to let them know the truth rather than to make them look stupid or me look smart)
