I'm wondering, when or how did Liquid became the leader of Foxhound and why did Foxhound get corrupt? Seeing at first it was a good organisation.

FOXHOUND is an elite special forces unit specializing in solo covert infiltration missions. It was founded during the 1990's (during MG) and later reckoned to 1971 (during MGS3), FOXHOUND is founded by the United States government under the command of Big Boss, in order to cope with local revolutions, regional complications, and global terrorist activities - although they were given too much of a free rein over what they were allowed to do, and became power hungry mercenaries. This unit specializes in black ops, carrying out top-secret operations within "unauthorized" combat zones which are too politically-sensitive to intervene in through conventional means.

edit: Yes, it does partly, about the powerhungry mercenaries. But how and when did Liquid became the leader?

All that's really known is that after Campbell retired in Metal Gear 2, that in 2005 Liquid reformed it. It's as simple as that.

liquid didnt reform foxhound, after campbell retired liquid joined foxhound for some reason(possible patriot influences) what is known was ocelot was there before liquid joined both in the year 2000(after the zanzibar land disaster in 1999) hope dat helps

You are actually right about the year. I was wrong about that. But it was Liquid that reformed it.

Liquid didn't reform anything! FOX-HOUND never disbanded in the first place, Liquid was just put in as their commanding field officer.

Chill. Yeah.. I'm not saying it was disbanded, he reformed it in the sense that he brought in the NGSF and changed how it operated since Campbell left. Hence the word "reformed".
