Well its nearlly time for me start MGS1, 2 and 3 all over again to lead up to MGS4.

I havent played them in a good while. I will be starting with MGS3, then MGS1 and finally MGS2.

It should take me a good month to do them all so its going to be perfect and the wait for MGS4 then wont seem so long.

Play them all on hard or extream. That should keep pretty busy plus bit of challenge is good.

It shouldn't take you that long though.

I recentley just replayed MGS1 on my PSP *finally found my charger, woop!* and I forgot how long it is. Such an amazing game though.

I doing it too, but I'm letting all initial codecs run, as well as the cutsequences. I'd like to know how long the games actually take when you play it how you should play it, enjoying every second. I'm now almost at 1h and 30mins and I'm only about to deal with the Ocelot Unit :D

I didn't know you can get it on your psp. well MGS3 takes about 5 hours . MGS2 takes about 6 and I can't remember how long MGS1 is.

Yeah it will. I wont play them constantly and I watch and listen to every codec.

how do u get mgs1 on your psp? i really didnt know that, dus it play well? cus my ps1 is broke and it wont play on my ps2 for some reason...

Try replay Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 again. Just more background info for MGS4

Im going to do the same but ill start with MGS1 and then 2 and 3. I'll probobly start playing MGS1 in a couple weeks because it will only take me 2 weeks at most to finish all the games casually. If i really wanted to i could probobly beat a game a day which i might do right before MGS4 comes out except play it in order of MGS3,MGS1, and then MGS2 because story wise MGS2 is before 4.

I'm also doing it I planned this since I heard about the release of MGS4 so it's been a long time coming.
Since i've already played MGS1 to 3 in release order I'm going to play MGS3, MGS:PO, MG, MG2SS, MGS, MGS2 and MGS4 all in that order. How long will it take me? who knows considering I'm watching all the cutscenes and basically playing all the games to it's fullest story wise.
When do you guys think would be a wise time to start? so I can complete MGS2 the day before MGS4 is released.

i REALLY want to know how to put mgs1 on your psp, please tell how some1 PLEASE!!! :D

Well you gotta put Mgs1 in your PS3 then active remote play on your PSP via the PS3, connected through USB wire or WiFi.
Then after remote play has been activated then you should be able to play mgs1 on your PSP.
Then just click on your handheld PS3 screen and play game.

I'm actually doing the same thing right now lol, i just beat mgs1, suucch a good story lol, good thing i bought the essential collection.

Doesn't it lag a lot though? Response time for the controls were terrible when I tried it.

Kinda but it seemed alright when I did it.
It makes the graphics look smoother as well.

I plan to replay all the other games as well. It always takes me a while to completely go through a MGS game, mainly because I enjoy messing with the guards in any given area.

In MGS 2, in Strut F, I think--it's an upper and lower level one, I like chucking grenades down on the guards. All for the little exclamation point to pop up over their heads ;)

3 Weeks Ago I completed Japanese MGS1. Saturday I completed Japanese MGS2 [For the third time] And now the credits to the Japanese MGS3 are scrolling up my screen.

Fun Fact: Starsailor is still used for the credits and on the right hand of the screen the lyrics are translated into Japanese - Example Image Of This

Or you can just sign up to the Japnease PSN and download it onto your ps3 from there, then easily transfer it to your PSP?

He might not have a PS3 / He wont have a Japanese Credit Card / He might want to play it in .. oh I dont know .. English?

Its not really helping though seeing how you need to be a Japanese citizen to get a Japanese credit card [Or import a PSN Card which would take a while] And if he was a Japanese citizen then he wouldnt have needed to ask and wouldnt be on here but would be on Japanese BBS'

Exactly what I'm doing. Except adding a bit of FFVII:CC in there when it comes out.

I am a bit busy with GTA IV at the moment to go back and replay them all (plus I cant play MGS3 because the PS3 doesnt read it right and my PS2 broke) I really wanted to play 3 again.

I might try and play through 2 but to be honest I played it so many many many many times back then I am still a little sick of it.

What I will definitely do is the day before I get MGS 4 I will download and watch every single MGS4 trailer back to back..it has been quite a ride since the day when I saw that funny teaser. I sure will miss looking forward to it.
