Been playing the re-released MGS essential collection(a must have by the way)....Just got through the Second Sniper Wolf battle....
[spoiler] and as she is dying she mentions a name "Saladin" Solid Snake replies "Big Boss" And so later during the conversation as she lays dying, Solid Snake gives her some words of wisdom about her being a noble wolf and not a dog of war.... Sniper wolf thens says, "Who are you, are you Saladin"
I assume that this is a quick peak into the personalities of Big Boss and Solid Snake, that on some level they are very alike with wisdom( if not the same) and on how they deal with the death of fellow soldiers or enemies....Sniper Wolf knew Big Boss and i would say, pretty well...She was taken back by Solid Snake's words even though she was dying, I would say that is a strong statement on the temperaments of SS and BB...I wonder if this similarity will have a strong influence in MGS4...
I just really liked how they very subtlety touched on the fact that SS and BB were alike in their thinking in regards to the battlefield.

Big Boss was the one that rescued her during the old days and recruited her in FOXHOUND.
Sniper Wolf called Big Boss Saladin because he saved her. More or less the exact same thing tries Snake to do in this last battle. He wants to save her spirit, her ideas, her beliefs even though she is vitally dying.
That's why she says that. Solid Snake and Big Boss are literally the same and during that moment and from how Snake handled the situation Sniper Wolf identified them as one.

so, big boss` name is jack. is saladin just a russian word?

Saladin is also a historical figure, sort of a hero in the moslimworld. He also was a Kurd, like Sniper Wolf. Maybe she used that name because of that reason, him (Big Boss) being some kind of hero.

Yeah Saladin was the Muslims General back at the time of the Richard the LionHeart, at the time of the third crusade.
By the way it's not mOslim, its mUslim.

saladin was a hero, at least in her eyes, and at that precise moment she can see the hero inside snake, the exact same fire as in BB
