I was just curious as to if anyone else has noticed the corresponding nature of the main members of The Beauty and the Beast Unit and the five Private Military Companies in the game? For example, one PMC is "Praying Mantis," obviously corresonding with "Screaming Mantis."

And as shown in this picture she has the logo of the "Praying Mantis" PMC on her "vest;" however, Ryan Payton said in a recent Kojima Productions report that the BATBU were not individual members of the PMCs, nor were they connected to them, which as shown by the above pic, this one (on the shoulder), and this one (also on the shoulder)...doesn't seem to be the case.
Opinions? These PMCs are just very interesting to me.

For reference, here are the names of the four confirmed PMCs in the game:

Raven Sword, Praying Mantis, Werewolves, and Huit Armes De l'Octopus.

I think the PMC's names have hardly any connection with the BATBU. More likely it's just a way of showing their connection with Liquid Ocelot.

Maybe Screaming Mantis is the exception... It seems Screaming Mantis may be working on her own agenda. Maybe she is one of the figure heads supporting Praying Mantis PMC, thus she would be another lead cause of total domination of militia in particular districts. So Beauty And the Beast Unit as a whole probably does not recognize with other PMCs, but Screaming Mantis (the lone exception) might.

Well the connections between the names of the PMC's and the Beauty and the Beast Unit can't be denied.

Raven Sword - Raging Raven
Praying Mantis - Screaming Mantis
Werewolves - Crying Wolf
Huit Armes De l'Octopus - Laughing Octopus

However, as to whether there are any actual plot connections between the PMC's and the Unit is pretty open to speculation.

What does Huit Armes De l'Octopus mean? It seems French to me, i may be wrong of course. Anyone know french here?! :lol:

The PMCs are not all on the same team apparently..

They are, they all work for Liquid's dummy cooperation, "Outer Haven."

The PMC's are mercenaries and The Beauty and The Beast unit is with Liquid's private army or the cooperation 'Outer Haven', as you say. They both work for Liquid's interests and goals, thats why they both use the same logo.

It's not that they all use the exact same logo.

Screaming Mantis wears the "Praying Mantis" logo, Crying Wolf wears the "Werewolves" logo, etc.
