Having just bought SSBB for my Wii today, and finding out it doesn't fucking work as it's on a DVD9 and some Wii's struggle to read this type of media, it got me thinking, as to whether this problem may occur with MGS4.

I seriously hope not. I really fucking don't. I've just bought the LE MGS4 from play.com.

MGS4 is on Blu-Ray.

Splitter Snake is correct, and Blu-Ray disks have only one format. Not like DVD's, so you wont have any problem with the media.

There is the single layer BD, and the Dual Layer BD.

MGS4 is on the Dual Layer BD. The first PS3 game to utilise this type of disc.

Nah, I'm pretty sure that this is something they want to make sure we'll be able to play.

I will be freaking pissed if it doesnt work cause I'm getting the bundle so paying all that money for it to not work damn I'd be pissed as hell.

Meh it will work, as far as i'm concerned i bought a Playstation 3 to play Playstation 3 games which of course is what Metal Gear Solid 4 is, So it will work. if it did'nt ....... yes i'd cry with furious anger!

I am quite sure it will work. Besides, even if it wouldn't, I'm sure you'd get a new copy. And aren't all the Ps3's supposed to read dual layers? So you should get a new PS3 if it wouldn't read those.

If dual layer bluray's broke PS3's then we'd know by now because most Blu Ray movies are on dual layers.

Also PS3 does not = Wii

Kind of a silly question to ask. Perhaps you've been fooled by some of the hardware and discs problems with games lately.

It's a Ps3 game, therefore it will run fine on a Ps3. It will have gone through any neccesary testing to ensure it will work fine, I'm almost positive this much of a blunder will not be allowed to happen for a game so important to Ps3's expected rise in the gaming industry.

i dont think this will happen it got me worried because GTA IV never worked and it keeped freezing.. but then it worked again i doubt it would mess up

If it does mess up you got the Online Disk..

MGS4 and MGO are on the same disk

NO it will not your forgetting that people have already played MGS4 in the previews, don't you think they had to insert the disk into the PS£ when testing it so basically no i don't think be wrecked or have any problems with them.

Keep in mind SSBB was also tested dude.

im not worried about it, im sure the game will run fine on the ps3

I'm pretty sure it will work. For sure the bundle versions. They would be really stupid to sell bundles of PS3 + MGS4 game and then let the players find out it doesn't work.

do you seriously think with all the production going into this game, the fact that its one of the games suposedly going to sky rocket the PS3 etc etc etc, that the creators would allow this to happen? quit being paranoid

Anyways, I'm not worried. As far as I know most BluRay film releases are on Dual Layered discs and I haven't heard of one case of those breaking PS3's.
