the new Drebin points system do u reckon is makes the game easier i mean u run out of ammo u can get more faster i hope they make the gun ammo cost more to make it a bit more challenging who agrees with me? feel free to criticize lol

I believe that the 'old school' method was better. You are in the middle of the battlefield, you can find almost everywhere guns and ammo, it's not that hard.
They only reason I believe Kojima did this is because of the large variety of guns and customizations we have on this game.

Sure, it's a handy feature, but I am also a bit nostalgic. We've already seen ammo and rations scattered around in different areas. You can also trade with fellow soldiers or militia now, to obtain ammo and weapons. I guess it gives us more options and obtains some of the realism at the same time.

After playing the beta for weeks, I still don't get the Drebin point system. I think it's a bit worthless. I mean, I kill people, and I don't have enough points to get this and that etc.. I don't like it that much.

The reason drebin is there is because the guns are ID'd. So you can't really just pick up a gun anywhere now, unless drebin tricked it out for you. It's a little simmilar to mgs2, how most of the guns were ID'd. Remember when you had to get the AK? you had to backtrack all the way to that one room in one of the struts. Well I would much preffer the drebin system. My one big question though, is: Will drebin come along with you for each new location you go to or...? Whats the deal?

I like the DP system, the only thing I didn't like is how you lose points for dieing and such, and therefore loose gear/attachments...

Sucks...

But overall Im happy with the DP system.

Yea I dont like it when you die you lose points either but other than that I like the DP points its different but its all good to me.

i read in a magazine that you can access drebin's store even in the middle of a battle. wonder how that's gonna work.

Its possible probably thought the Mk. II.
You use the Mk. II to transport gear, weapons and ammo from Drebin and as we've already seen (in the GC 06 trailer) Mk. II is a nice and decent way to tranport them.

I love the DP system. The weapons are more fun to play with compared to the 'standard' weapons available.

Hunting down soldiers for the sole purpose of getting their weapons and ammo sounds like a lot of fun. Using Mk. II to scavenge for items is already fun in the beta demo, so I know I'll love it in the actual game.

There's a few good reasons that the Drebin Points system will be a great feature in this game:

- In MGS4 we can't just pick up weapons on the battlefield and use them, because they're ID'd. We could do that in MGS2, but the weapons were new and kept in rooms, so they weren't ID'd. So, we need a gun launderer to unlock these ID'd weapons for us;

- Because of the weapon customizations;

- This system will surely increase the longetivity of MGS4 if we are to try to unlock all the weapons in the game, which there are 70 or so;

- There are people who don't like the idea of trading weapons for points, but what else could we trade them for? Money? How could we collect money on the battlefield? This system makes sense, because each gun gives us a certain amount of points. So, if we were to trade an RPG for 100 points, we would need to pick up weapons from dead soldiers until we've reached 100 Drebin Points, so that the trade could be balanced.
It would something like this:
Drebin: "Snake, I'll trade this RPG, if you can give me 5 P90's" -or 10 claymore mines, or 20 MK2, and so on...
In other words, each weapon has a certain value to make this system more easy and understandable, instead of hearing Drebin saying that we need a certain quantity of this and that weapon to trade for an RPG.

I like the idea of the Drebin points, but I'm a little unsure as to the whole "access it in the middle of battle" thing. I think there should be some sort of system so that either Drebin turns up at certain points in the game and those are the only times you can trade/buy stuff from him or that to do it mid-battle, you have to select what you want to do on an on-screen menu, but then you have to send MK.II off to find him and you don't get the stuff until MK.II gets back. I think the MK.II idea would add a new element of gameplay with trying to survive until it returned if you ran out of ammo.

One. In the Vietnam. /sarcasm

It's not that difficult to think about it.
You have a dozen soldiers passing you in the Middle East almost every minute. If you kill one or two and get their ammo by strip-searching them will do the job.
