I AM JUST WONDERING IS THAT A FACT.BECAUSE THE VIDEOS I HAVE SEEN ARE BEST GRAPHICS IV SEEN AND SHITY GAMES LIKE HALO 3 ARE 1080P.

In many ways 720P is superior because it cuts time from scanning for the image resolution. And 1080P is really only necessary if you have an enormous television. 1080P is usually primarily used for still images because it's crisper and doesn't need to be constantly moving and being deinterlaced. For fast paced games 1080P is less than desirable. And really, it only affects how good the picture is. Not how good a video-game looks. The PS3 is capable of 1080P but really it doesn't have much to do with game performance. Just how it's displayed.

Halo 3 wasn't even 720p. It was 640 which isn't considered HD.

it dosent matter to me since i really dont own an HD tv. but the resoultion dosent matter as long as the game is good

I really wanted MGS4 to be on 1080p because it's the biggest quality we can have at the time, its graphics would be even greater on that resolution and I bought a Full HD TV only for that reason.

Those who say they don't care or want 1080p. Obviously don't have a 1080p HDTV. I was really hoping for 1080p - the last MGS game in the highest resolution.

Not cool, supposed to be one of the biggest games of the year and it can't go 1080i at least? and I was worried my 1080i TV was not good enough for it. XBOX fanboys are gonna be adding this to their list of "why MGS4 is gonna be shit". Even GTA IV, which didn't have great graphics and that can still go 1080p. And Outer-Heaven your right man people that don't care do not own a 1080p TV. Look at MGS for example, i feel for you dude.

Do you really care that much about graphics? Most people on here probably don't have an HD TV period, so of course they're not going to care.

I have a HDTV so it would have been nice for it to be 1080p but I don't really care too much.

I do a Full HD TV and I really hoped I could play the game with 1080p resolution.
They were talking all this time for amazing graphics and I thought it would be for 1080p. 720p is nice but 1080p is better.

720p is still HD. And it won't make too much difference unless you have a 42" or bigger adn u watch from far away.

720p is just the resolution the game was made in.... it can be upscaled to 1080p besides whats the difference GTA IV was made in 640p but it upscales to 1080i on my TV :D

Lol that sucks for PS3 users. They get 640p, while the other box got the native 720p.

well dang. I just bought a 47in TV just for Metal Gear and I would have gotten the 720p 50in if I knew that the 1080p didn't matter.
