I was thinking of soon enough, setting up a read only advertising forum. Where peoples sites would get posted, and stay there for a period of time. Or forever. Depending on the deal.

It will not be free by any chance. This forum would bring alot of guests to the persons site advertised. I noticed this on SS1MGS's site after he won the competition and had his banner up the top for a week.

Now the questions is. Would any of you pay to have your site or forum advertised in a read only forum for all to see?

The money raised would go towards future plans for a MGS site we have in mind. No details yet, and most probably, upgrades for the forum.

But I just need to know, so I dont waste ours or anyones time.

EDIT - Or you can have a banner up the top for aslong as you want, up to a month.

I guess I'd like to, but there's no way my parents would let me give money. Ahh well. Good old fashioned PM's work for me.

It depends really, my site was setup on a FREE deal with Lycos, so unlike certain people I don't have to pay anything. My only clause as of recently is I have to keep my site active, so thats means I have to keep my updates flowing...

I would but only on a forum which has as many members as mgsforums. Its not going to be as good as advertising at the top for the forum thou. But if the price was write I would.

I voted Yes because i would like to advertise my forum or site.

I will say, I will just see if the majority of people will go ahead with it.

there shouldnt be any advertising. It takes the fun out of the forums.

I would have to say no, not cause i'm not willing, i just think that you would get more affilliates if you were to have it for free...ppl don't usually like to pay

You woul'nt pay but you would want it to get you more members. Well you will get none if you don't pay.lol


Plus advertsing on a small site like this does not mean you will get more people to your site. Thats why it would be cheap to advertise here. If you advertise on google you will get more people to your site if your spent on average 10-20p per person and then not all of them join up to your forum or servies.

All mgs games are brilliant so...everyone on this site say AI! if you love it and play it when you have the time.

it realy depends on 2 things, how mutch would the payment be, and who meny online members would it bring?

Well, we get near 2000 hits a day and an Ad would be on every page.

Actually, you'd be surprised at how effective a graphic can be. Several forums I am a member at I found by clicking on a small logog on another site.
