Title: Soldier Of Fortune

Frank Jaeger - May 15, 2004 09:53 PM (GMT)
I have recently bought this game and i think its amazing. It is very gory, blowing peoples heads off and shooting there arms and legs off etc. What do you all think about this game?

I've been a fan of the series for several years now. It's so much fun shooting up the already dead bodies and seeing how many body parts you can detach from the body itself. :guns2: :violent: What country do you live in Frank? The cover of the game is very different to the one we have here in the states.

Soldier of Fortune,,,, Is that an FPS? And is it on the PC?
It looks quite good, I am sure I have heard of it, but never brought it.

Solidus - May 15, 2004 10:35 PM (GMT)
Yes it is a FPS and it is on the PC.

Though i have never played it myself, but it does look good.

You can tell that from the box cover? :P

I dug out some screenshots for it:

The graphics don't look too bad I suppose. I don't think it will top my experience of Call Of Duty though.

I live in the UK.

This is probally one of the bloodiest games i have ever played though. But i think Manhunt is just that little more bloodier.

Oh god Manhunt is just funny. The sick one is with the baseball bat where he knocks him to his knees pulls it back and WHAM, his head comes off.
Sick little game that.

I don't think I will be buying Soldier of Fortune as I am too rapped up in Wolfenstein, Medal of Honor and Call Of Duty.

Dublo7 - May 16, 2004 10:20 AM (GMT)
I liked Soldier of Fortune. But I wasnt mad about it at all.
I didnt play number 2.

Manhunt is better lol. But I guess they are 2 different games.

Frank Jaeger - May 16, 2004 11:32 AM (GMT)
Yer i know Manhunt is better. True classic that game.

Has anyone played Call of Duty or Allied Assault and this game. If so can they tell me if Soldier of Fortune is better or worse than them as I am unsure whether to get this....

I've played Call of Duty and Allied Assault. I like those two better than Solider of Fortune. If anything, Solider of Fortune is more comical than serious. I mean, it's just kind of funny to see all that gore and blood spewing all over, and the limbs and heads flying everywhere. Though it's still a lot of fun

Oh right. Then I will probably just stick to Manhunt for the gore.

Do you still have Call of Duty or Allied Assault? If you want I will play you online and kick your buttholio.

The rattled mind of bob - May 17, 2004 03:54 PM (GMT)
I still have Allied Assault but my gf still has Call of Duty. You think you can beat me? Hah! You make me laugh, Refluxe!! It's impossible for someone as good as me to ever loose. :guns2:

You want to get on for a game. You sound very confident. Have you got MSN, we can talk over that if you want and then kill each other.

The rattled mind of bob - May 17, 2004 05:00 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I'd love to play you on-line sometime. There is, however, a problem. You see, we're currently having a house built but we've already moved out of our old house. So until or house is complete, we're living at my grandmother's house. About 90% of our stuff is buried in three different in a storage units. When we moved I made it a point to make sure my PC games and PS2 games were stayed out of storage. However, about 15 minutes ago, my PC games were no where to be found. So I figure my mom probably put them in storage. Our house is scheduled to be done in about a month or so. Until then, the only PC game I have available to me is S.W.A.T. 3. But when I do get my stuff out, I will accept your challenge. :guns2:

Refluxe - May 17, 2004 05:02 PM (GMT)
Alrighty then. I will long await that challenge.

Well back on topic now. Soldier Of Fortune = Not as good as other FPS therfore me not get it but me just admire it.

Frank Jaeger - May 17, 2004 07:13 PM (GMT)
I wouldnt say Soldier Of Fortune was commical, i think its very gory and horrible. In a good way though lol. I wouldnt call it commical.

Otacon - May 17, 2004 07:24 PM (GMT)
I have never played it. saw it in the shops though. looks good

Refluxe - May 17, 2004 07:38 PM (GMT)
If I was to pickup either Jak or this. What do you reckon I should do?

Well, I guess it depends on how you look at it. I found it quite amusing the way it was so unrealistically violent and gory. I suppose it wasn't necessarily comical, but I didn't find it that serious.

My advice for you Refluxe would be this: It all depends on what your looking for. If you want a fun laid back and interesting platfomer, then I'd go with Jak. If you want a somewhat intense FPS with loads of blood and gore, then go with Solider of Fortune.

If it was on the PC and it was online then I would have got it straight away but considering I think I have broken my PS2 I am still contemplating whether I should get it or not. I will just have to wait and see first and then maybe. Although if a new RPG hits the screens I will be right onto that. I don't know. I suppose I will have to give it a try. I'm sure one of my mates has got it and can lend it to me.
