Title: Neverwinter Nights
Description: The Series

Refluxe - May 22, 2004 12:51 PM (GMT)
Neverwinter Nights is probably one of the most greatest RPG's to ever grace the earth. With stunning graphics, amazing gameplay, truly incredible sound effects and brilliant storylines NWN has easily made it to be one of the greatest role playing games ever.
If you are a fan of any RPG's then this is a must for you if you don't already have it. Come to think of it, this game is a must for anyone. Why? Well try it and find out for yourself.
The first Neverwinter Night stunned everyone and really made a change to the RPG front. Many games could not compete with such high quality gaming. When the first and second expansion backs were brough out then it would just get better and better.
One of the good things about this game is the toolset. If you have finished the epic adventures with the game already then download more and get playing. It is almost never-ending with the mass amount of things to do. Not just this but there is a multiplayer version too so whatever happens you will not stop playing on it! Check out the site for more info on this game and talk about everything about it in this topic.

I'll start by asking who has got this game?

Mike - May 22, 2004 02:13 PM (GMT)
i have it, but my multiplayer wont work for some stupid reason

have you heard of the second NWN game? it's currently in development under a dummy name, and the graphics are excellent. you can have full-scale wars (kinda like dynasty warriors) with hundreds of characters, where normally you could only have about 50 PCs max on a decent server.

Refluxe - May 22, 2004 02:19 PM (GMT)
I have not heard of this NWN 2. Do you have any links or anything?

Very true Refluxe. This is a tremendous series. Would I say the best ever? Probably not, but it is a fantastic game. :D

Just out of curiosity here, what would you say is the best Bob? :)

If there is a NWN 2 then I will probably we myself. I thought Bioware ending all speculation of a new one.

The Final Fantasy series was what got me hooked on RPG's, so I say it's the best RPG series of all time. You may disagree with me Refluxe, and that's perfectly understandable, but there's just something about the FF series that I love. I do, however, love Neverwinter Nights, an I previously mentioned. I think Neverwinter Nights is also my favorite name for an RPG. :)

Refluxe - May 22, 2004 08:18 PM (GMT)
Thanks to you for that. I am amazed by this. I'm surprised I didn't know it myself. The graphics are stunning, I must read up on all this information.
Good find!

Sound like your excited Refluxe. But yes, these screens are gorgeous. :o

I had never realized, I am overexcited here because that looks absolutely amazing. Reading up on it just makes me ecstatic!?

I'm about ot play on NWN now, if it works!

Dublo7 - May 25, 2004 05:03 PM (GMT)
I havent played it yet.

Is it anything like diablo 2? (which was boring)

Oh jesus christ no. 100% better than that. Trust me, if you enjoyed Morrowind then this is an improvement to say the least. (Except area loading) I would talk about it loads but it is easier to read my review for more information on it. You can find it here. Definitely get it!

The rattled mind of bob - May 25, 2004 05:21 PM (GMT)
Yes, NWN is twenty times better than Diablo 2. Whenever I need a good nap, I'll just pop in Diablo 2 and it'll put me right to sleep. -_-

That was funny.

Diablo 2 luckily wasn't as bad as the original in which you could spend 306023063023623 hours on it and be killing the same creature in the same dungeon. Hack N Slash they say? More like Crap N Slash.

GET NWN! If you don't like it then you are insane.

Dublo7 - May 26, 2004 12:02 AM (GMT)
Diablo2 was really bad I reckon. Boring as hell.

I didnt like morrowind! will I like this game?

Hmm, I can see why you didn't like Morrowind. You're probably into more action right? Less dialogue and more battle? Well Morrowind sucked for that as the combat is very crappy but I still liked it.
Neverwinter Nights is sort of in between. The combat system is almost godly. There are so many things to choose from even if you are a warrior so you won't be just hitting repetitevly. There is also alot of dialogue in NWN but believe me, the talking system is more diverse. I think you should rent it or something. If you do buy get both the expansions as well and play the very first adevnture and continue through it to the second then third. It is goddamn awesome.

Mike - May 26, 2004 09:50 AM (GMT)
also Neverwinter Night's combat system looks a lot better than most MMORPGs, in that you can actually watch a reasonably realistic-looking fight. i'll never forget the moment my monk did a running kick to a rat and you saw the rat's head snap up, just like a real impact.... NWN

Dublo7 - May 26, 2004 10:23 AM (GMT)
Yeah I really really hated the combat in Morrowind, and its boring as all hell.

Psycho Mantis - May 26, 2004 10:49 AM (GMT)
I find it hard to buy it, seeing as I only have a 16mb gfx card, which is very sad. I can't even run SoF or GTA3 on this f**ker...

NWN is not an MMORPG. It is online but it isn't a massively multiplayer online role playing game. I think you got mixed up but it damn right hands down is one of the best RPG's ever!

I know how you feel I just got a new graphics card and I am hopefully soon going to get my new processor up and running so NWN will work perfectly. Wee!

Hey Refluxe, just out of curiosity, why do you dislike the FF series?

Good question. I played an older version, I think it was VII or something like that. I brought it from Tenerife as I had been told it was a good game. When I got round to playing it I just really hated it. It's hard to explain how and why but it wasn't what I thought it out to be. The gameplay I suppose. I am unsure of how the recent games have come along but I probably will not get them even if they have the greatest reviews. It's a series that lost my attention long ago. Maybe it's just me....

The rattled mind of bob - May 27, 2004 06:16 PM (GMT)
Well, as I mentioned, I LOVE the FF series. But I guess I see you point of view. I suppose you either love em' or you hate em'. :)

Like marmite............uhh.....you don't know what that is. Nevermind.

Anyone into NWN Module creating?

Swordsikan - May 27, 2004 07:20 PM (GMT)
Well, I have been playing nwn for ages now, especially online. The thing is that online nwn can be played in so many ways...for example I play on 3 servers mainly one is Caenyr, a world aimed at RP. Then there is Howard's LOTR a large world with tons of players..aimed at hak and slash I guess. And the PvP server that I cannot remember the name of...These are all custom built mods and each one is huge with it's own large fan club. The thing is, that there are so many custom mods, there is bound to be something to suit your tastes.

Refluxe - May 27, 2004 08:15 PM (GMT)
Very nicely said Swordsikan. I believe my favorute online servers are: Grim River II (I think it has shut down :() and Middle Earth. They are both Roleplaying servers. The last time I went on them though was a long time ago, my computer cannot connect to any of the servers anymore.

Looks cool.

Refluxe - June 3, 2004 08:53 PM (GMT)
That link doesn't seem to work for me. Maybe it's down or something at the moment.

The rattled mind of bob - June 3, 2004 09:43 PM (GMT)
Did you try to copy and paste it?

Refluxe - June 4, 2004 10:39 AM (GMT)
I clicked it now and it does work. It must have been down or something.

There is a Module calle Grand Theft Otto. Lol! I have got to play some of these. I am stuck into building them at the moment.

Bob do you have Hordes of The Underdark? Damn that has to have been the best expansion and best adventure I have ever played!

Yep. I have it. I think I probably agree with you that it's the greatest expansion pack of all time!!! Or at least the greatest I've ever played, as you mentioned.

Refluxe - June 7, 2004 03:27 PM (GMT)
I have been doing some more work on a Module I am working on. Although I am not great I enjoy. I also downloaded a few others and a community module project of some sort which should keep me entertained considering it was over 100mb!

Mike - June 8, 2004 07:08 PM (GMT)
ahhh... multiplayer's finally working.

you guys might catch me in a world called "Nordock", my char name is "Mike Tze'en"

Refluxe - June 9, 2004 03:26 PM (GMT)
Mike, you should play a server named Grim River II or Middle Earth. They are the best! :D
