Uh...what do you mean by random? Do you mean un-related to the plot? Because I don't its related to the main storyline.
Metal Gear Rex - March 14, 2005 05:01 PM (GMT)
this proves my point to my friends that it was great and they are all wrong thanks for the replys guys

It was just an expansion to MGS...
I like to think of it as actually being Raiden doing his 300 VR missions that it says he went through...

The VR missions are just sort of for fun. To help you out in the game. Like GrayFox said. It's an expansion to the game.

the great thing about the vr missions is that they channel your abilities into one skill at a time, and keep getting harder, but you still only concentrate on that one aspect, this helps you much more than just going through a normal game which forces you to practice them all at once, and then you may only rely on what you know when there is so much better stuff out there.
example: starting out with a gun in mgs and allowing you to have as much ammo as you usually do takes the sneeking out of it, your not sneeking, but killing and walking. VR helped you see how fun it was to have no guns and to try to get to the objective the hard way

i dont think it was random because in every MGS theres been a vr mission training and in MGS1 there was constant debation on vr training in the actual gameplay... :P :D :) ^_^

VR missions was ment to be a part og mgs1 but they either relseased it before or after
Thai Python - April 20, 2005 06:42 PM (GMT)
they made vr missions to help you find out the buttons :lala: and get better at playing it even though they talked about it in every mgs... :haha: :)

It wasnt Random it got your skills up and it had some good missions i liked it especially breaking people's necks lol. "What was that noise?" Mgs guards are classic gold.

I love it when you knock on something, and then you see those big ol' question marks on top on their heads, it will never get old.
