Title: New Signature Enforcement
the_cobbinator - April 10, 2005 03:22 PM (GMT)
As of now, we have been a bit lax on enforcing the signature size rules. Today, however, we have implemented a handy little script that will deter anyone from having a signature that is too big.
Cheers,
MGSF Staff

Bah >_< Back to this account then.
Scarface - April 10, 2005 04:34 PM (GMT)
So no sigs can be bigger then 110 pixels in height? good to know i guess.
edit: hmm i cant put a two word quote in my sig because it says im expanding 471x110? make it just a little bit bigger.. i have to make my new sig real small.
glarbinator - April 10, 2005 04:58 PM (GMT)
Aw man... This sucks, lol.
Otacon - April 10, 2005 05:23 PM (GMT)
No it doesnt suck.
What sucks is people making big sigs and people having to take ages to load a page. Ive got 1.2mb of connection and it takes a while for me sometimes.
Refluxe - April 10, 2005 05:29 PM (GMT)
Ha! You bunch of naughty people. About 50% of the whole forum seem to have oversized sigs.
This clever little script is perfect for catching you people out.
Teh 3nd r0x0rs - April 10, 2005 05:56 PM (GMT)
I'm stupid, so if my current sig dosen't fit, I'll be looking around forever trying to figure otu what pixel is. :P
EDIT: Thank god it fits.
Scarface - April 10, 2005 07:32 PM (GMT)
yeah it does suck. if people just got firefox we wouldnt have this problem.

Huh? An internet browser aint going to affect the size of sigs dumbass. :P
Scarface - April 10, 2005 07:36 PM (GMT)
Im talking about load times. I had no problem loading any pages because i got firefox.
Otacon - April 10, 2005 07:41 PM (GMT)
Yes, Well there are some of us that like to stick with something familiar. And plus, IE is a microsoft product and comes built in with most PC's so its highly likely that Firefox wont get 'official' if you get my meaning.
Scarface - April 10, 2005 07:44 PM (GMT)
theres hardly any difference between IE and Firefox. And IE picks up many more virus' because there all made for IE, not Firefox.
Otacon - April 10, 2005 07:56 PM (GMT)
If it means im going to get virus's eating away at my face sobe it. Ive had a PC with 500 viruses on it. I think I can cope ;)
Solidus - April 10, 2005 08:54 PM (GMT)
This has only be enforced because people were not listening to us.
Mega Man - April 10, 2005 09:37 PM (GMT)
Well for some werid reason I cant upload my sig and I made it 468 x 100 and that is smaller than you guys want it.
Solidus - April 10, 2005 09:50 PM (GMT)
Hmm, yeah, try taking everything out, update it, and put it back in and update again.
Mega Man - April 10, 2005 10:19 PM (GMT)
Nah. I just made my sig smaller.
Scarface - April 11, 2005 12:11 AM (GMT)
same thing happened to me mega man. i think the program counts your gang sig and any quotes or stuff in your sig.. stupid really.
Mega Man - April 11, 2005 12:37 AM (GMT)
Thats what I thought so i made my sig 468x70
Puppy - April 11, 2005 01:23 AM (GMT)
To me this is good. Now I don't have to ask wether my sig is big or not.
Can I have a copy of this script please?
Teh 3nd r0x0rs - April 11, 2005 01:33 AM (GMT)
Why were the signature sizes changed? Mine used to be okay.
Solidus - April 11, 2005 01:47 AM (GMT)
They were never changed. People just didnt follow the rules. ;)
glarbinator - April 11, 2005 03:37 AM (GMT)
The only reason why it sucks is that I always make sigs that are 150 pixels tall, and 375 pixels wide.
I hate thin sigs... :P

You just got.....

But seriously. The sig sizes are perfect sizes.
Refluxe - April 11, 2005 04:18 PM (GMT)
I'm not liking the amount of complaints that are coming out of this.
To those that dislike it, that's too bad. It wouldn't be such a shock if you had obeyed the rules in the first place. They're not made to be overlooked, whatever the circumstances.
glarbinator - April 12, 2005 04:10 AM (GMT)
Well. I dunno.
I've never put a big sig on this forum...
But you probably weren't talking to me, so, *leaves*... or maybe... whatever, lol.
iAn - April 12, 2005 05:33 AM (GMT)
so if i make a sig with the same dimensions as the official NGSF sig, then it wouldnt be a problem, right?
Otacon - April 12, 2005 07:53 AM (GMT)
Nope. Aslong as your whole sig comes under 471 x 110 pixels your in the clear.
FrozenFlame - April 12, 2005 12:49 PM (GMT)
Im with glab im not the type of person that has MASSIVE sigs
and with 451x110 thats really small to put anything in it!
gray-fox - April 12, 2005 05:30 PM (GMT)
Yeah me too. I mean 451 in width is fine by me. But 110? Can't we just have the hight a little bigger, there's hardly enough room in 110 sigs.
And yes, yes i know my sig is too big. I'm getting a new sig. I'll be requesting one in a bit.
But can't we just have a new hight size? Around 135 to 150?
Scarface - April 12, 2005 05:37 PM (GMT)
a bit too much there fox.. maybe like 120?
gray-fox - April 12, 2005 05:40 PM (GMT)
the_cobbinator - April 12, 2005 06:05 PM (GMT)
Okay, first of all, it's 471 by 110, and secondly, 10 pixels is very negligable. I think this is much better than the alternative, which is no sigs. If you don't like it, lump it.
Mega Man - April 12, 2005 07:36 PM (GMT)
Well it is werid that it includes Quotes and stuff in your sig...and dosent it also include the banner of your org also
Otacon - April 12, 2005 07:49 PM (GMT)
Look, If you dont like it. fu**ing shut up.
The sig rules have always been 471x110. You f*ckwits just dont listen to them. im quite p*ssed off as it is. So Dont try starting an arguement over soemthing as petty as a sig rule thats been in use since the start.
Like it, or get the f*ck outta the topic...
((Sorry for any offence caused by use of language))
Mega Man - April 12, 2005 08:30 PM (GMT)
Well I dont care about the sig enforcement that is perfectly fine to me but why does it include quotes I couldnt even put TBotDR rules in my sig. I had to make it smaller
Leestephens - April 12, 2005 08:39 PM (GMT)
Hmm. Seems like a good idea to me, I didn't intend on having a huge sig anyway, but it looks like it could save a few problems.

Because the size doesn't apply for just graphics. It's for the whole thing. Otherwise, what would stop someone from creating an essay for a signature?
Pistol Pete - April 15, 2005 10:07 AM (GMT)
I resized my sig so I'm in the in signature enforcement, now
gray-fox - April 15, 2005 11:33 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I got a new sig too. I'd still like a bigger hight size but i won't complain.
