Title: The Suffering
Description: The Best Horror And Scariest Game Ever!
Frank Jaeger - June 5, 2004 09:31 AM (GMT)
I bought The Suffering yesterday and i went on it this morning. When i went on it there was a great video scene with very bad language (worse than Getaway) but it was very good. I wont say the rest or it will spoil the rest for those who havent yet played it. You start off in your Cell and work your way around the massive Penitentary hearing screams and shouts from other Cell Mates getting killed. Nearly everything is interactive, when you kill things the blood goes all over your top and stays on there for awhile etc. It is very Scary and you dont know what is going to come at you next. There was a bit that made me jump off my seat, i was walking down the hallway and there was a large window suddenly a body of a Cell Mate crashes through the window.
I could tell that this was going to be a great game because at the start it says "For a better gaming experience adjust your TV brightness".
i recommend this game to everyone, its truly mindblowing.
*Not better than MGS*

I think I will rent this. I'm a fan of horror games, and from what you said Frank, this one sounds quite good.

The only horror games I remotely like are Resident Evil.
Doom3 will be the best horror game ever made.
I might rent this game to see what its like. It looks very gory.

You showed me it today Frank, and yeah i think its cool. Quite exciting. Even though it is amazing with the killing and all, but i would probably rather Silent Hill. Just my best type of horror game i guess.

Never heard of this. Gamespot rated it 7.6 so it must be good. The first screenshot I looked at was one with some kind of wolf and a man with no head! Great.

;) The Suffering is a great game, but far from the best horror game(which belongs to Silent Hill 2).It has good action, nice story, good atmosphere.I thought the action kept it from being scary though.

i am not that sure to buy this games, it looks really good and the main character looks amazing but it might not be my short of game because i dont like Resident Evil or Silent Hill games. anyway i will have to way for my birthday (IT'S next) and my mum might buy it for me :D :D :D
anyway i have found some cool pictures of the game, take a look

the monsters look very cool in this games also. :D
Refluxe - June 8, 2004 04:07 PM (GMT)
Yeah the monsters do look pretty nice. I see they managed to include blood everywhere!
Solidus - June 8, 2004 05:16 PM (GMT)
The Suffering is amazing. I played it over Franks the other day and had a go of turning into the monster. (We dont know why he does yet) he has a crazy metre which grows, and when full you hit the button and he will turn into the monster with blade hands.

I've never been a fan of any horror games. None of them scare me, and I get bored with the repetitiveness quicky. That was until I played The Suffering. This game is awesome, and if I had the money I'd buy it. Renting it doesn't do it justice

Hmm, that sounds very enticing. I wouldn't say alot of horror games are repetitive, RE is awesome. Problem is, I'm out of money, need to get Driv3r before this so it will have to wait.
Solid_Python - June 9, 2004 07:16 PM (GMT)
RE is repetitive.Alot of backtracking, each game ends with a lab and a big explosion.Fun,but repetitive.
