Title: The Wisemen's Committee

Reduction-Gun Ocelot - October 12, 2005 07:51 PM (GMT)
The Wisemen's Committee is an exclusive Organisation.

A few key notes:

> You don't apply. I will select those I believe have the essences of a menber of the Wisemen's Committee. You will be PM'ed very shortly confirming your eligibility.

> There are 12 seats here. Those 12 seats are for the members whom I believe have the greatest arguments and/or knowledge of the Metal Gear series.

> One seat is already taken. That leaves 11.

> Your role as part of the Wisemen's Committee is simple: to straighten any possible misconceptions on this forum. We will be comprised of the greatest thinkers and theorists on this forum. We must seperate the information from the rumours.

I will be PM'ing those eligible now.

micster - October 12, 2005 07:57 PM (GMT)
yet another new org...

Reduction-Gun Ocelot - October 12, 2005 08:06 PM (GMT)
I'm reluctant to call it an Organisation. More of an underlying presence...

Ocelot05 - October 12, 2005 08:26 PM (GMT)
Good luck. Another org...

Reduction-Gun Ocelot - October 12, 2005 08:30 PM (GMT)
I'm not one for Organisations. Consider us a new form of Moderator... Where there are inconsitencies, we will step in and verify theories, keeping things on the right track...

Mr.Payback - October 12, 2005 08:37 PM (GMT)
Count me in man. Gee,i've only been on here for a week and i've been asked to fix people's f*ck ups. Sounds great to me.

ADJ - October 12, 2005 08:50 PM (GMT)
Nice idea... putting together the greatest MGS-thinkers. If it's not actually an org, does that mean those who are already in orgs are elligible?

OcelotSnake - October 12, 2005 09:41 PM (GMT)
Intresting, i like the idea of this, there are too many newer members asking the same questions repeatadly, having a "information organization" would be a good idea although i'm guessing the members would have to be fairly active and have through played the entirety of the metal gear series.

orionx103 - October 12, 2005 09:45 PM (GMT)
This... sounds incredibly dumb. This "presence" of yours sounds like you're trying to make a new elite team, but there's already NGSF. Sorry, bud.

what a douche, you cant even spell right, mr. Imsomuchbetterthanthou, stop pretending like you own this forum.

Scarface - October 12, 2005 11:26 PM (GMT)
Um, sorry if im raining on this org, but you can't really expect new members or anything to be the smartest members on the org.. and you won't really have 'moderation' powers if you will, thats what the NGSF is for.

Still, good luck with it. Your idea is very interesting might i add.

If you don't like it,then keep your fu**ing mouth shut about it. The organization is going to be made despite your outbursts. So you would best shut your god damn mouth about it.

the_cobbinator - October 12, 2005 11:44 PM (GMT)
I personally think this is one of the better ideas that any member has had lately, and we've got some members trodding all over it. I think many of you are missing the point of this...committee. It's not to put on some show of strength, it's merely a gathering of the brightest Metal Gear minds on the forum. Perhaps it will add even more validity to the Theory forum.

If you don't like it, don't blow up about it, just click the 'Back' button, and find another topic to post in.

Puppy - October 12, 2005 11:49 PM (GMT)
Tis' sounds like a great idea. Too bad I'm not a MGS-Nerd. :P

FoxHounder - October 13, 2005 12:03 AM (GMT)
Yeah I like your idea too ;) Because it's no org like the others. The committee is set together by various members from different orgs. good luck with it ^_^

Well why did ya have to say that? he made a kind of ORG but in a different reason, to help the forum out? and then you call him a douche? WTF I think its a great Idea Hope it turns Big,

GrayFox - October 13, 2005 04:36 AM (GMT)
I think all these negative comments make you people look like f*ck holes to the extreme...I swear its really starting to get on my nerves...MGS is my favorite series, and I consider myself to be an expert, but lately this place is becoming the sh*ttiest place I visit...For one thing all anyone ever does is flame, and everyday I see topics that look as if they may be promising, and I enter and what do I find? sh*t...Stupid, yes STUPID theories, with absolutly no basis whatsoever, followed by pages upon pages of retarded replies...How is it possible for someone to be smart enough to follow the complexities of the MGS series, yet at the same time be a complete idiot...This guy comes in here with an original idea...One that is actually needed in this idiotfest, and what do we get? God forbid you say 'nice' or 'goodluck pal' no no no, thatd be to simple...Instead we get idiots calling him a douche, and trying to explain to him why he thinks hes better than eeryone else because hes trying to start an org...My god, that doesnt even make sense...I know everyone will shed oh so many tears :sarcasm: but if this place doesnt change for the better Im out of here...

Red Queen - October 13, 2005 10:22 AM (GMT)
no thank u i have been accepted back in NGSF.

Mr.Payback - October 13, 2005 10:34 AM (GMT)
I've never been on an organization before. I've been asked on other forums, but I declined. They all sounded pointless to me. But when I saw this one I thought it was a great idea. Metal Gear Solid is a very complex series. It's one of the most thought out games ever made. And there is a sh*tload of misconceptions about it. So,I decided to join. If it was a sh*t idea I would've never accepted. And if spelling and grammar is the only complaint you can make about us,then you need to re-think about posting negative comments. You're just going to make a complete ass out of yourself.

-By the way, who's making the sigs?

786Beast - October 13, 2005 03:00 PM (GMT)
gd luck, the leader of the org, but isn't an org DUDE! ;)

Reduction-Gun Ocelot - October 13, 2005 03:16 PM (GMT)
I anticipated the mixed feelings towards this 'Organisation'...

I'm sure most of you agree that the Forum needs some kind of underlying backbone. Our purpose will be to regulate the forums, keeping fact from fiction, and generally keeping things moving on track.

Another key factor I failed to mention earlier:

> The members of this 'Committee' will be rendered anonymous. This allows potential Wisemen from their respective groups still to be eligible.

There will be no banners for fancy Flash GIFs declaring who we are.

The only man you know is part of the Committee is myself.

I am the Leader of the Wisemen's Committee. There are 11 other members, who by now should have accepted my invitations.

Time to show our Patriotism...

Aftermath - October 13, 2005 03:56 PM (GMT)
Looks like a cool org... good luck.

Reduction-Gun Ocelot - October 13, 2005 04:29 PM (GMT)
'Good Luck'? The very thought makes me cringe.

We need no luck. ;)

GrayFox - October 14, 2005 01:13 AM (GMT)
I appreciate the offer...Its an honor to be considered one of the greatest minds of MGS, but Im not sure if I will accept...As I said before, its an excellent idea, but to be perfectly honest, I just dont have the time nor energy to dedicate myself to correcting the numerous misconceptions around here..

Give me a couple days to think about it, and Ill get back to you...

kerotan - October 14, 2005 04:27 AM (GMT)
allright, i didnt mean to be an asshole earlier, im just saying, the greatest minds are already in one organization, metal gear renegades.

*snickers*

This is a great idea for a commitee reduction, it's never been done before. And i like the whole 'secret members' idea. Explain to me though, exactly what it is you do? Discuss MGS theorizations and be somewhat of a shadow commitee?

sadistic_greyfox - October 14, 2005 11:20 PM (GMT)
wisemens ehhh? u don't say, sounds interesting.

NINJA - October 14, 2005 11:21 PM (GMT)
This is a great idea.

Canard - October 14, 2005 11:51 PM (GMT)
I just fail to see how being in some secret group would boost someones willingness to point out others errors, since people naturally seem to do that anyway. Plus, being secret means that noone would pay heed to what a member of the group says anymore than they would normally.

Your invitation to the Wisemen has been revoked.

You clearly destroyed your anonymity by posting in the thread rather than by PM.

Your place will be reallocated to another potential Wiseman.

Umm look pal, thats what the Recruitment topics are for...And I dont recall you telling me anything about this 'anonymity' thing...And if thats the case then it isnt an org anyway, so why is in the org forum? Anyway it doesnt matter, I was going to decline the offer anyway...As I said, I can do just as much to 'fix misconseptions' on my own, I dont need to be in an org composed of, in YOUR opinion, the 'greatest minds of MGS'... :thumb:

Reduction-Gun Ocelot - October 15, 2005 09:08 PM (GMT)
I like your style, GrayFox.

It's a shame we won't be working together.

Solid Snake8 - October 16, 2005 12:01 AM (GMT)
Erm.. Good luck or something. Actually since you don't like that. Break a leg? :)

JC87 - October 16, 2005 02:56 AM (GMT)
ya'll need to stop bustin' his balls on this. its a new concept. i like it. so from now on i want no more ball busting in this topic. :)
