okay, for those of you who don't know; the term 'ripping' is often used for people who feel the need to steal a piece of graphics work that isn't theirs.

they often edit a name out, and replace it, or just flat out take the thing. the member by the name of 'MasterWard' was found guilty of this, by using a banner that i had made a few months back, without asking any type of permission, or giving any credit. so for that, and along with a PM that i found disrespectful, his account has been terminated.

so listen up, i myself, and along with many other graphics artists find ripping to be an extreme lack of respect for the person who works hard to improve their designing ability. and i would highly suggest that you wouldn’t say 'it's a compliment' because it isn't. it's a slap in the face.

so here is where i am getting at. if you are proven guilty, your account will be suspended for a length of time chosen by the administrator ... no questions asked. If you are found guilty multiple times, your account will eventually be terminated.

now i do realize that this isn't souly a graphics board, that's why you won't be terminated right off the bat. but the issue of respect and common curiously should spread through every message board, and that's the reason for this course of action.

so everyone, have a good time, make your own graphics or request one done for you. always give credit where credit is do, and you'll get along just fine. :D

Well said. As a beginning graphical artist, it's undescribably unfair to see people win comptetions by digitally plagiarizing someone elses work.

Yeah, and stealing others sigs, and posting them earlier so it looks like they "ripped" from you. Unfair lads, so dont do it.

I don't know if you've tried this yet but go here. There is an "anti-rightclick" code that you can use that will stop most stealling of images and stuff.

yea i've seen that, but there are a lotta ways around it, also it makes things difficult for admins when we try to pull code or something like that.

Yeah, there are way around it but it would help. Okay then, just thought that I would mention it incase you didn't know.

I know at least one way for sure. If people want to get graphics, their gonna get 'em, but you should add that code on to limit it.

it's easy to rip images through the anti-right-click code, just go to view>source and copy+paste the html...

yeah, but theres always the print screen button... like to see people get around that one lol

Anyway, I think I saw an anti-highlight code on the SZ zone or something just recently so if you really wanted to you could put both in. But an anti-highlight would really get in the way. . . so I wouldn't.
