Spaceballs

Almost time for the "I am your father's, brother's, nephew's, cousin's, former roommate!" part.

Here's a little true story:
When this movie was in theaters back in the 80s, my uncle got kicked out of the movie theater for laughing at the "Longest ship in the galaxy" gag at the beginning of the movie. There was Spaceball-1, flying by...and by...and still flying by. He was the only one in the theater audience who got it, and his laughing attracted the ushers with the little flashlights. They shined their little flashlights on him and told him to get out.

Saw Brave the other day, huge Disney fan here, It sucked :/ It was incredibly trite and boring. I was shocked when I asked myself "Man when are things going to get interesting?" then looked at the runtime and saw 10 minutes left. I mean how do you take a film with such an interesting time period, group of peoples, and lucious landscape and make it so boring I wanted to watch golf instead? The main character is adorable and looks just like my ex but she never did anything worth mentioning. One of my biggest issues was that I felt like I saw the entire film via trailers, and still nothing happened. There was no adventure or excitement. Seriously bland, and incredibly disappointing.

Currently watching Hells Kitchen, I love Chef Ramsay. He's a madman.

Todd & the Book of Pure Evil - Season One DVD

Any show where a dude has to battle a giant evil talking dick that turns its victim into stone is definitely worth watching.

And not a dick as in an unpleasant person... A dick as in a giant cock.
And not a cock as in a rooster...but a giant phallic monster with SHARP TEETH.

Finally finished NEON GENESIS EVANGELION today. Watching the 25 episodes took me like 3 years. I was into it for 10 or so episodes but then it just started to drag and when there was 8 episodes left I just wanted it to be done with. I liked the idea of the angels - each one weirder looking than the previous - and fighting against them with the EVAs, but I wished they'd explained the origins a bit more and this way fleshed out the story. Decent, but nothing great.

GREEN LANTERN - Considering this was directed by Campbell, I was disappointed. Reynolds has no charisma whatsoever and the movie is just corny in places. Mediocre, just like THOR was.

HAPPY GILMORE - Decent half-way through but then it jumps over a bunch of sharks and I decided never ever to watch this piece of shit ever again.

127 HOURS - Still good on the second viewing. There's enough versatility in editing and cinematography for the movie to hold interest till the very end. Great performance by Franco.

MINORITY REPORT - Loved this for the first three or four views but this time the aesthetics and the smell of green-screen made it a lot less enjoyable than before. Overlong. Still OK but not as great as I rememebered it being.

AMERICAN PSYCHO - Brilliant performance from Bale and the movie is good, but not great. Starts getting a bit boring towards the end. Love all the Genesis/Huey Lewis stuff.

ROBOCOP 3 - I can't believe I've now seen this piece of shit twice.

Watching City Slickers.

City Slickers I and II were childhood favourites of mine. Kind of odd, considering they weren't aimed for children, but I liked them anyway.

edit:
I guess I probably liked the movies because the intros for both movies were animated and both movies starred MARV from Home Alone 1 and 2.

Antii- American Psycho was great, I dunno how you got bored at the end, especially that amazing scene when he's on the phone confessing to his lawyers answering machine.

Lazy Snake, City Slickers is fucking classic.

@Topic- Just got my Star Trek The Next Generation Season 1 on Blu-Ray in the mail a couple days ago. Its glorious.

Like I said, Bale was great. And he did that phone scene what it was. I wasn't bored at the end, I started getting bored in the third act. There was nothing wrong with the ending itself. The film just didn't bring much new things on the table on it's second half. It recycled the things introduced in the first 30 minutes. Bale great, movie decent.

Watching Back to the Future on Bluray. I spent the rest of my tax refund money on the trilogy, and I haven't regretted it one bit.

Watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The original movie from 1990. I'm such a geezer, but I don't care.
