Saw ZERO DARK THIRTY in the movies just now. A very good movie. Chastain was great as the leading lady, Gandolfini brought some light humor to it and there were lots of really well crafted scenes throughout the movie. At often times it felt pretty much like a Michael Mann movie. Especially the gun shooting, man those sounded great, almost as good as in HEAT.

Highly recommended film that makes you think if you're open to thinking. There's been a lot of talk about the movie showing torture in a too positive light but I think it's just the opposite. Definitely see this film on the big screen if you can.

Heat is almost the greatest movie of all time.

I'm about to watch Reservoir Dogs.

I own this movie on DVD and watched it once or twice years ago. I never cared much for it back then so I figured right about now would be a good time to go back and check it out... right after I get nice and baked of course.

I just finished watching it. It was better than I remember. Great movie for sure.

I've never watched Pulp Fiction so that one might be next.

DOGS and FICTION are easily my favorite QT movies. I've seen both so many times since they first came out. Both are five star movies to me but if I had to pick a favorite at gunpoint, I'd say Dogs is my absolute favorite from the man.

Just finished RANGO. Pretty good. Some nice action and lots of references to old westerns. I almost laughed out loud when in the beginning of the film he's squashed on the windshield of the car that's driven by "Depp" and "Del Toro" from their FEAR AND LOATHING days. Great music and cast as well.

Fiction is QT's best work, easily. I'd have to say Django comes in second.

I ended up watching Reservoir Dogs one more time. Great movie indeed.

I'm currently watching the greatest rivalry in the history of basketball: Los Angeles Lakers @ Boston Celtics.

THE MASTER - Was a bit disappointing. I like all of PT Anderson's movies, my favorites being BOOGIE NIGHTS and MAGNOLIA. This film felt like PUNCH-DRUNK LOVE in the 50s. The performances by J.P. and Seymour-Hoffman were excellent and the score was good, but the film itself was a bit too hard for me to grasp onto. Really well directed and shot, but I just didn't get a lot of it. Still, worth seeing at least once especially if you like his earlier films.

I just got done watching Full Metal Jacket a little while ago. I'm not a big Kubrick fan but I love this movie.

Currently watching Magic & Bird: A Courtship of Rivals. Excellent documentary.

You should check out Rob Ager's analysis videos of FMJ in Youtube and it might make you love the movie even more. If you're into that kind of thing. Just a suggestion. I love that movie as well, probably my favorite war movie with APOCALYPSE NOW REDUX.

EDIT: Just finished the first season (10 episodes) of this superb swedish/danish detective series called BRON/BROEN (aka THE BRIDGE). Extremely well written and excecuted. They're going to make an american version of it starring Diane Kruger but I highly doubt it'll come close to the original. Highly recommended.

@rain - Have you seen the show?

That's funny, as soon as I got done watching it I was thinking to myself "now would be a good time to finally watch Apocalypse Now." I've still never seen it. I'll have to check and see if it's still on Netflix later tonight.

Here Comes the Boom.

I'm about to watch this for the first time. I'm both a huge MMA fan and a Kevin James fan so I'm hoping this movie delivers. I know certain MMA guys like Bas Rutten and Mark Dellagrotte are in it, as well as official UFC action, so hopefully it's at least worth the $3.99 I'm paying to rent it.

It's one of my all-time favorites. Been in my TOP-10 for decades. A true masterpiece.

Been able to keep up the movie-per-day -pace and here's some recent ones.

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968) - A great debut film from Romero. Not as good as the masterpiece of a sequel DAWN OF THE DEAD but a really good film from its era.

STRIPPER NATASHA KIZMET aka NATASHA KIZMET - THE MOVIE(2009) - Easily one of the worst movies I've seen in the last couple of years. Lots of tits and sexual innuendos but the acting is horrendous from start to finish.

ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK (1981) - Nice early movie from John Carpenter. It'd been a while since I last saw this and I remember the name Snake Plissken and the eye-patch but didn't remember he even had a snake-shaped tattoo on his stomach.

STREET FIGHTER - THE MOVIE (1994) - One of the worst movies I've seen that should've been atleast decent. The humor is below sub-par.
