My thoughts on the movie. It wasn't as great as I expected but it was still good and entertaining 95 minutes. It did feel like a prologue to a main feature and wasn't as fleshed out as I had hoped. I was quite surprised when I realised that majority of the movie is actually going to place inside this one building and is going to be in the vein of THE RAID: REDEMPTION. The smaller scale worked fine, but I would've wanted to see more of Mega City 1. Overall I liked the aesthetics of the movie. It would be nice if the upcoming ROBOCOP remake and the DEUS EX movie would have similar gritty, dark atmosphere in them. Urban was fitting for the lead role and even though the character lacked personality, he was good at looking mad and getting shit done. I'm not a fan of Headey and haven't cared for her much in anything I've seen her in but she made a good baddie with a scar. The blonde rookie was cute. The Slo-Mo stuff looked pretty nice and reminded me of the eyedrop stuff they used in COWBOY BEBOP. I've probably read one or two issues of the comic and that was like 20 years ago so I don't know what in this movie was from the comics and what was made up, but much of it seemed fitting for the Judge Dredd universe. What's important of course is that even though the gloves came off, the helmet stayed on. Also, I decided to get the COMPLETE CASE FILES volume 1 as my next comic book purchase. |

I also like how that one time he says ''I am the law''... It's strong and meaningful. Unlike how Stallone did it. |

For some reason when I heard Karl say that line, it reminded me of Stallone saying in COBRA: "you're the disease, and I'm the cure" with his recognizable gruff voice. Edited by Antii, Feb 28 2013, 02:01:27 AM.

Hanna A very decent action-thriller. Saoirse Ronan is absolutely wonderful in it. |

Gonna watch Vertigo(1958) today. It will be my third or Fourth Viewing. Am trying to learn more about Director Frank Darabont(The Shawshank Redemption) through his work. So I tried renting the Majestic(A film I have not seen) at Blockbuster, but they didn't have it. Unfortunately, as I have come to learn, my Blockbuster has very few older films. They Looked at me funny when I asked for a copie of Citizen Kane or Singing in the Rain. Lot of really bad movies at blockbuster. More and More Rip Off's of Bigger films there. Still, I'm happy with their blu ray option. |

Currently watching the Expendables II. Good action flick. I went out of town to a nearby Wal-Mart in hopes to find The Hangover II or Superbad on Bluray. I'm a sucker for those kinds of comedies. |

I just got back from seeing Side Effects, I don't reccomend it, it was too slow and there was barely any buildup to anything. Also I can't be the only one on the planet that thinks Channing Tatum is a terrible actor, right? |

Everybody hates it for some reason, I liked it. Mostly because it got rid of the crappy characters and just gave us more philosophy and action. |

Watching The Hangover. You know you have a problem when you can relate to this movie. edit: Woke up drunk now I'm watching Mortal Kombat. Best game-to-movie ever. Except for the sequel, that sucked. Edited by Station, Mar 3 2013, 03:49:20 PM.

NAUSICAÄ OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND - I've loved all Miyazaki's movies I've seen but this one is right there at the top. Beautifully animated, great cast of weird creatures and animals, amazing music from Joe Hisaishi - who's one of my favorite movie composers - and it's just epic in every way. |
