Just watched The Wolverine.

I guess the fight scenes were good, but I wasn't really feeling it overall. Apart from Hugh Jackman, there wasn't really much great acting going on or dialogue. The best part of the movie is at the end when two legends show up.

Made me want to watch the first two again.

There's literally only one other mutant beside him. Too many Asians to even decipher who was who in fight scenes as well. I could go on, but this movie's flaws are a mile in length.

Yeah, the only other mutant was the Viper lady and she was rubbish, I just found out her lines were dubbed as well.

I thought the Japanese setting would be cool, but it came across pretty cheesy in some scenes, especially the ninja parts. Also, speaking in Japanese in one scene and then English the next, when it is still only Japanese people in the room, is weird. Are people really that lazy and can't read subtitles for more than 5 seconds?

Actually, the more I think about the dialogue, the more I realise how terrible it is. All the jokes fell flat, as well. At least there were some "fucks" in there.

Schindler's List: a very powerfully holocaust movie. I think it may be Liam Neesons nest performance and Spielbergs best film. Fantastic movie from beginning to end.

A Clockwork Orange: only the third Kubrick movie I've seen. It was a very odd movie and I have no idea what to make of it, I'm not sure if I even like it or not. It gave me a completely neutral opinion but I get the feeling that it's supposed to.

Watched Taxi Driver last night, very disappointed with it.

I've seen most of Martin Scorsese's movies now and the only one I like is TWOWS. I don't know what it is about his movies that puts me off.
Man that's a classic. I like most of his stuff but to each their own.

Well in light of recent events I've gotta watch Ghostbusters for the 1634th time.

I think i've figured it out. Some directors like Quentin Tarantino like to craft a story in their minds, where every scene is plot-relevant and is filled with sharp, snappy dialogue. Directors like Scorsese prefer to simply paint a picture of real life. In real life people don't speak in witty lines and not everything that happens is relevant to the theme or purpose of the movie. I prefer the former because I like things clear and complete, even though in real life most people's stories are rarely so perfectly crafted.

I watched Casino and Goodfellas again this weekend. I love Robert De Niro, he just might be my favourite actor, I never get tired of seeing him on the screen.

Sons Of Anarchy, I'm up to season 3 now. Season 2 fell a bit flat for me but so far season 3 seems pretty good. I've watched up to the third episode so far, it was really weird that Stephen King was a guest star.

Red Dawn (2012) for the hundred millionth time, I love the movie, I can't stop watching it, Chris Hemsworth really did a fantastic job in this film, Josh Peck on the other hand... he was ok, he could have done better in some scenes, but other than that, the movie was perfect IMO.

White House Down

Channing Tatum should not be allowed to act.

PG13 action sucks too, the writing also made it feel a bit like a kids movie at times.

86th Academy Awards winners

Otherwise Gravity won 7 awards for various things, Jennifer Lawrence fell over again, and still no luck for Leo. Results were mostly what I expected.

Thor: The Dark World, I got it (on Blu ray 3D) today, I hadn't seen it since it was in cinemas. It's such a great movie, Marvel keep doing better and better with their movies. I also watched the One Shot (All Hail The King) about the Trevor (the actor who was thought to be the Mandarin in Iron Man 3), I love the One Shots, they offer such great insight into the cinematic Marvel universe. It really makes me excited for The Winter Soldier and Guardians Of The Galaxy.
