The Pacific.

It's a decent show but such a disappointment compared to Band of Brothers. The story is worse, the characters are far less interesting and the battle scenes are not even close to as good as in BoB. (the direction and camerawork in BoB's battle scenes was just phenomenal)

Also, the series doesn't really feel like a 'journey'. There's no sense of time passing and events moving forward over a several year period like in BoB. Maybe it's because BoB strictly followed the Easy company from the boot camp to the end of the war and you got to know each characters more personally. What they were like before the war and how the war changed them in the course of the series. The Pacific doesn't really have a proper introduction to the characters but just throws them right into battle in the first episode. And it also doesn't really follow any particular group during the whole series but switches between different characters in different platoons.

So yeah. It's ok, but not great.

Just finished the first season of Bates Motel. I like Dylan a lot. Norma is fucking psycho. Norman is just... in his own world.

And I am almost finished with the first season of Sons of Anarchy.

@Bread, that's what I thought too. At first, I thought they were going to be full of themselves but I like how they make fun of themselves instead, especially Franco LOL
I like to think Michael Cera actually behaves like that in real life :D

I saw the first season and was pretty surprised, it went off into some weird directions.. Pot farms LOLWTF? But I did like it though, and you're right, Dylan is the man.

LMAO, called his phone and it was in his back pocket! "Oh, that's embarrassing."

OT: Tonight I'm going to be watching the season 4 premiere of The Boondocks! So excited.

Last night, I watched Bad Grandpa. It was alright, but not as good as I had hoped, given that the bad grandpa was always one of my favorite Jackass pranks. I was surprised that they gave it a story. There were a few moments that I laughed pretty hard at, but overall it was just okay. Worth the $1.50 Redbox charge.

Just finished watching Now You See Me.

Which I thought was fantastic. I don't really understand the 50% Metacritic rating, it deserves higher than that. Kept me entertained through, it's very rare that I don't pay attention to the time when watching a film.

Edward Scissorhands is a pretty good movie. Granted the seductress stuff makes 0 sense considering he has fucking scissors for hands, but otherwise it is a pretty touching story, and evidently a sad one.

Lastnight I watched The Secret Life of Walter Mitty with Ben Stiller in it. I thought it was a fantastic movie. It's about what happens when a reclusive day dreamer has to stop dreaming. The score is wonderful, cinematography is spot on, characters and writing were all great. It also just makes you feel good when you watch it.

Binge watched the first season of a tv show called Orphan Black, a week or two ago. Was very impressed, thoroughly enjoyed it. :)

Now I'm rewatching the first five seasons of Supernatural (to where it should have originally ended). Half way through season two so far.

I also rewatched the first Raimi Spiderman movie the other night. In retrospect its not actually as great as I remember. The acting in a lot of instances is pretty bad, the dialogue is terrible at times. Peter getting the puberty talk from Uncle Ben when he is 17 or something? That godawful response he has to MJ in the hospital, ugh. Still was entertaining enough. More than anything its just cemented in my mind how much better Garfield is as Peter/Spidey. Pls stahp Vergil. :roy:

Just finished Drive Angry. Jesus Christ, what a shit film. I mean I love Nick Cage and all but this was fucking dire. The only thing that redeemed this waste of almost two hours of my life was several shots of bare bouncing titties and some soft-core porn scenes with some good aggressive cowboy riding and the moaning and screaming from the women getting sausage. I ain't gonna lie, I got a semi on a couple of occasions.

Oh and some beautiful classic American muscles cars: Matt black '69 Charger R/T, '71 Chevelle SS and a fleeting glimpse of a '69 Camaro SS. The '74 Buick wasn't half bad either.

4/10. Again, would have only got 3/10 were it not for the titties.

Edit: Just watched Expendables 2 and all I gotta say is holy cock n ballz, what a good watch! Better than the first. I was convinced that such a star-studded cast would fail completely but they really pulled it off well. 7/10.

Edit2: White Men Can't Jump. Excellent. 7.5/10.

That has got to be one of the greatest WWII shows ever created. Solid acting, solid writing, excellent production, directors... man that show had everything.
