Sopranos and Breaking Bad are top echelon of television dramas. The writing, acting, everything is spectacular in Sopranos and basically the same for Breaking Bad. After watching the entirety of BB multiple times over, I will agree that the first season isn't super amazing. Once they Krazy 8 situation is over, it does the slow burn until Tuco comes into the picture. Then everything starts snowballing until you have an amazing, tense, Rube Goldberg machine of a drama series. Swag, I highly recommend The Sopranos. There's a reason that it has been lauded as one of, if not THE best television series of all time.

Oh and I just watched "Enemy" with Jake Gyllenhaal, by the director of "Prisoners." Pretty good movie, definitely one that deserves/benefits from a second viewing. It's best to go into it without prior knowledge though, that way you can be in Jake's shoes as well.

Any other recommendations for gripping shows? Nothing better than a show you watch half a season in a day because it's so gripping!

True Detective and Fargo are really good shows imo.
I like True Detective as much or more as Breaking Bad personally.

Six Feet Under. It's not "gripping" in any sense of the word, but it's plenty amazing. It's got tons of heartbreak, sex, drugs and philosophical/deep moments in it. You'll definitely be touched more than a few times. Plus it takes place in a funeral home, so every episode opens with a death which usually alludes to the theme, and being that it was on HBO, some of them are not what you'd expect. The show itself doesn't shy away from anything, since death is the main theme of it. Needless to say, it's got a heavy tone to it. But there are still lighthearted parts such as the "Gay Paintball Day".

Bates Motel is different, but in a good way. It's got a lot of surprises in it. Plus it's just creepy and weird.

I've only seen the first season of Dexter, with the Ice Cream Truck Killer, but I loved that shit. Should probably watch the rest.. or just start over lol

I've heard great things about True Detective but I don't have any way of watching it. And I need to give Fargo a chance, but I'm afraid that it'll ruin my opinions of the movie lol.

Fargo has very little to do with the movie, it's got none of the movies characters in it.
The biggest similarity in the two is that it's in the same location.

Really liked the first season of Justified. Stopped watching when the actress that plays Skylar showed up in season 2. Might start watching again, I think I can stand her now that I haven't seen BB for a while.

My wife and I are watching "Orange is the new Black"
Pretty lesbian shit.

But it's still pretty funny and gripping.
Not to watch alone as a dude,
But good stuff for you and the lady.

What? I watch it on my own. You got a problem with that, m8?

Anyway, I really like the show, good acting and a lot of great characters.

The Wire is just as good as BB and better than Sopranos.
