I missed the first 20 minutes of Fight Quest, but the rest that I saw didn't seem to represent Brazilian Jiu Jitsu very well. Like you said, I wish they would have shown more techniques. More basic submissions. Maybe they did in the first 20 minutes which I didn't see, but oh well.

I just finished watching Fight Quest, particularly the episode on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

It was alright, but I was really hoping they'd show more of the technique. All they really did was show the two hosts getting submitted over and over, and over. At one point one of them got put to sleep, and the other nearly had his arm broken.

I saw that episode too, it was alright. Doug kind of rubbed me off as a gigantic douchebag during the entire episode. Jimmy seems to be the only one really appreciative of what's going on and remained respectful.

Doug just kept complaining the entire time.

And Jujitsu isn't really that showy of a martial art, a lot of it is as they elaborated; timing and anticipation. So what we didn't see was likely the time they took waiting for their opponent to drop their balance, the preceding take down and submission is what we see.

This is only my second Fight Quest episode, I saw the Hapkido episode a while ago and liked that much more.

Did anyone else notice the pimples all over Jimmy's back?

I didn't realize he was on 'roids. Of course it's possible that's not the case, but that's exactly what it looked like to me. A lot of my respect for him would be lost if I found out that's truly what that was.

I can't believe Doug didn't recognize Rickson. Epic fail.

Where's Human Weapon at, anyways?

I was watching some of The Godfather Part III a week or two ago and was wondering how the series went from being so great to being so weak. The first was great, the second was pretty good as well, but I haven't even been able to sit through all of the third one yet even though I've owned it for a few years now and I'm a pretty big Pacino fan.

I'm currently waiting for replays of Rob and Big :) It's the only reality show/show on MTV I actually enjoy, and I can't find anything else entertaining at the moment.

I didn't see the pimples on his back, but like you said.. if he is roiding then I've immediately lost lots and lots of respect for him.

I don't necessarily blame Doug for not recognizing which one was Rickson, afterall, there are about a million Gracie's.

P.S.

I hope Human Weapon is done, because I could not stand Bill Duff or Jason Chambers. Duff is a giant idiot who shouldn't be doing anything, and Chambers (from what I hear) is actually a huge dickhead and I don't really like him anyway. He fits the "pretty-boy" persona perfectly.

But I'm gonna watch Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in a bit, I meant to watch it all last night, but I forgot I had school today so I only got to the poker game.

Shame on me.

I liked Human Weapon better mainly because the martial arts fights they had at the end of each episode were full on fights of that discipline, whereas on Fight Quest they're like amateur fights. For example, the mexican boxing and savate episodes were both amateur matches, whereas on Human Weapon there were no amateur matches. That was what I liked most about Human Weapon.

Other than that, I agree completely about Bill Duff and Jason Chambers. Chambers was definitely the better of the two, and he actually submitted someone with a twister in MMA (which is nuts), but he still sucks and I don't like him.

I can't honestly say I'm a big fan of either Doug or Jimmy either, though. Doug always seems like quite a whine ass, and if Jimmy really is a 'roids, I'll be very disappointed with that.

Either way, I'm terrible at keeping up with weekly shows so I haven't watched either on a consistent basis. I just try and make sure to catch the ones on martial arts that I'm actually interested in learning more about, like BJJ and even Hapkido (mainly because I used to be a huge Scorpion fan from Mortal Kombat and his main style was Hapkido in the last two or three games). I also liked the Kali and Escrima episodes where they were beating the shit out of each other with sticks, lol.

Not sure why, but I'm actually waiting for Home Improvement to come on. The other day I was sitting on the couch using the laptop reading up on some MGS, paying no attention to the TV. Next thing I know Home Improvement comes on, and for whatever reason I couldn't stop paying attention to the show. I get a kick out of it, and I'm not sure if that's a bad thing
