Hey guys, I just pulled out MGS VR missions today, and when I play it on the PS 2, my original CD fails to be verified. For both CD 1 and 2. However both CDs work when played normally. Is there anyway to bypass the verification process? paolig |

sadly its very simple YOU NEED A PS2 WITH A 1.1 PSone VERSION DRIVER, I had the same problem, basically you need a PS2 when the built in IR was introduced onwards.. |

You're all wrong. It will read Special Missions, but not any discs of Metal Gear Solid, One or Two. This is because the Playstation 2 has a sliding disc tray, whereas the Slimline version, Playstation, and PSone have a straight place-in disc space. The sliding action fails to pick up the disc of MGS, and so if you get one of the above-mentioned consoles, you will be able to play it. It's got nothing to do with backwards playability, the Playstation 2 has a built in Emotion chip, which allows it to play Playstation games too, something the Playstation 3 lacks. |

Yes, for PS2 (Slimline) but not for Playstation (PSone). Mine is the old Playstation, and it still plays. |
