Hooray for job money, I recently purchased some shirts of the following bands: - Melvins - Boris - Pelican - Amon Amarth - Megadeth Looking to get some Electric Wiz merchandise sometime soon as well. Might go to eatdeath.com. I remember discussing it here before, I never acted on it though. Edited by Providence, Aug 31 2008, 05:04 PM.

I'm seeing Finntroll tommorow. To be honest, I don't really like this band, but it's a special show cause they're filming for a DVD. So yeah, that's pretty cool. Also, friends from my old school are all going, so I wanna meet up with those guys again, and yeah moshing! Oh yeah, also beer of course, fuckin' a. I might actually stagedive on this one, in the hopes of appearing on film, hehe. Anyone else seen Finntroll live? |

Finntroll is one of the most fun bands you'll see live. The band has such a good time playing, and it's kind of like a Gogol Bordello-type crowd. Everybody's just enjoying themselves and dancing around to the weird polka, then moshing during the more metal parts. I don't really remember there being too much stagediving going on. I saw them last August, but unfortunately I missed them when they were here a few weeks ago (although I can't really complain, I was partying with all of my friends). You'll have a good time, especially if you get to meet anyone from the band. I spent a while talking to the two guitarists after I saw them, the language barrier is hilarious. They were very cool guys, too. EDIT: I also saw Impaled last Thursday. They were good, but nobody was there. There were maybe 25 people in the crowd, and nobody was getting into it except me and the two friends I was with. They only played for 35 minutes. I'd like to see them some other time in a better place. Nobody ever goes to shows in Cleveland, I hate it. Impaled would be so fucking good if they were in Philly or Richmond or somewhere else with a better music scene. Edited by FearHeldDear, Sep 20 2008, 12:33 AM.

I just came back, I bought my ticket. I'm about go out and meet with friends, and then go to Finntroll. After I read what you said I got pretty damn excited, it's good to hear someone say that they're great live. I'll bring my verdict after, or quite possibly tommorow. Dear god Finntroll was amazing! Really, such a awesome show those guys delivered. Fear, man, you were so right, the moshing was crazy, and everyone was relaxed really. The band just played tight, no faults. It was also awesome how they were filming the show for a DVD, definitely can't wait till it comes out. All in all, it was fucking amazing, and I'm definitely gonna get into Finntroll from now. |

No, cause I fucking hate nearly everything about Korn. Also no idea who this 'munky' fellow is. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Anyway, I am pretty hyped for some upcoming shows. There is a possiblity of me going to see Slayer with Mastodon, Amon Amarth and Trivium. This is a pretty awesome list, in my opinion. It would be on the 7th of November (One day after my birthday) in Amsterdam here. It's a bit on the pricey side, which also happens to be my biggest problem with this. I'm also not sure if any friends of mine will be going to see this, same problem as me probably, heh. I'm gonna see if I will be heading to this, cause it would be a crazy night really. Then there's another performance I'm not too sure about. The main act being Slipknot. A band that I don't care that much about, I'm gonna have a listen to their new CD and base my thoughts on that. However, the two supporting acts are pretty damn awesome. Children of Bodom and Machine Head. Those are two bands I would most definitely love to see, then again, we have the same problem, it's a bit pricey. I think at least one of my friends is definitely going though. This one's on the 20th of November, also in Amsterdam. Luckily I'm going to see the next ones definitely. Opeth is the main act, with Cynic and The Ocean being support acts. I really don't have a idea about Cynic or The Ocean (anyone here like them? Or saw them live maybe?) I do know that I really love Opeth, and I quite frankly can't wait to see them. I think they're gonna be pretty damn good live. This is on the 25th of November here in Amsterdam. Then we have the Finnish Fire tour. This involves four Finnish metal folk bands; Korpiklaani, Battlelore, Falchion and Kivimetsan Druidi. Out of all these bands I only know Korpiklaani, hah. Anyone else here know the other three? Í guess this can get good too, since Finnish metal bands tend to be pretty good. Also a few friends of mine are going, so it should be fun anyways. This one is on the 30th of November here in Amsterdam. So... All in all, November is gonna be a pretty damn busy month for me Anyone else seen these bands live? Thoughts? I've heard of them, They were a band that fused both. metal and jazz, in the 80's (86' I think) . I heard of them about two years ago. Personally, I think they're alright, but nothing to write home about, with the exception of the semi electronic vocals, and the fact that they only had one album in 1993. Edit:
It's pretty good, I guess. Although it's not their best, I bought it. I also found a song by cynic. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lOon7lSALdQ&feature=related Hope you like it. Oh, they're also making a comeback, the wikipedia copied bit in the side says. I guess that tour is part of it.
I saw metallica at reading and leeds festival. The only good thing was One. I'd rather poke my eyes out than pay the extortionate prices they charge ever again. Everything after (and including) black album was shit anyway. Edited by kkarbo, Sep 21 2008, 11:46 PM.

Cynic was great. Way better than Opeth, although I would like to see Opeth too. Those two bands would make a pretty good lineup for a show, though. That would be a fun night. As for all those other shows, the only band I'd care to see is Amon Amarth. Their new album isn't too good but they put on a great live show and all of their albums before this one were stellar. |

I just noticed the 'these' in your statment. Whoops. No, I haven't. Not many metal bands tend to play in the north of england, and I can't really afford to go anywhere else. |

Priest are the dogs bollocks in my opinion. I think Testament put on a killer live show, almost as good as Megadeth to be honest. |

I was told by my friend that he's dragging me to that show, personally I'd go just for Megadeth, but Testament would be good too. Not a fan of Preist, but I'm sure the show would be alright. |
