I'm sure its common knwoledge that wrestling is scripted. So I'm pretty sure you didn't burst anyone's bubble with that buddy. And for it being fake-its not supposed to be real. Its entertainment. You don't go to a movie and see a guyu get shot and say "that looks so fake, its scripted you know". It not being real is irrelavant. Just like a sitcom. Why watch? because its entertaining. Many refer to it as a man's soap opera. But if you just don't like it, that's fine. But no need to point out the obvious that it isn't real.

Solid, unaired events are called house shows.

The key-fabe, (storylines) thats the fake part. But the hits, bumps, the bleeding, all real.
And it really gets me mad when people say it's all fake.

My favortie wrestlers are.
Ron "The Truth" Killings
Konnan
Eidde Guerrero
Rey Mysterio
Randy Ortan
Kurt Angle
Triple H
Edge
Christian Cage
Kane
Undertaker
Shelton Benjamin

Anyone aspire to be a pro-wrestler? I do. I've wanted to since I was three and plan to go to a wrestling school this summer, but I'm still trying to find the best one in my area. I live in Chicago by the way.

I love wrestling, but I hate WWE with a passion. Their storylines are stupid beyond belief. They hire people that can't wrestle simply because they look the part. They put the title on Dave Batista, a 39 year old man who can't wrestle and obviously uses steroids, for a couple of months short of a year.

So I watch TNA (Total Non-Stop Action) instead. It has the people who are brilliant in the ring, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, Alex Shelley. Their X-Division is loaded with potential. Unfrtunately, they have a habit of putting the title on Jarrett and other talentless individuals, but usually the shows are amazing.

I don't hate the WWE and would love to work for them someday but I agree they have been in a slump these past few years. It seems they went downhill after the attitude era (the Rock, Stone Cold, DX). But that's a good thing because there's no better time then now to try out. I do enjoy watching TNA especially the Fallen Angel and AJ Styles.

I'm on loads of wrestling forums, and nearly every member watches TNA more than WWE. Eespecially since the WWE champ is John Cena.

Yeah, TNA is getting better and better. Their shows are amazing to watch. And if they get all those popular names they've been after recently(Goldberg mainly), then their really going to be worthy comptetitors to WWE. And I think that's what wrestling needs-comptetition. Without it, wrestling is dull and boring; the writers are lazy and so is the talent. But remember when WCW started to grow and get popular? Those where the best years in wrestling-the "Monday Night Wars", the "Attitude Era", Nitro vs. Raw and Thunder vs. Smackdown. Both companies where trying to out do each other and that competition brought the best material, the best moments in wrestling history and there was no better time to be a wrestling fan. And if TNA continues to grow, acquire more famous talent while continuing to be innovative, competition will arise and wrestling come out of the slump its been in.

Meh, I hate Goldberg with a passion. Did you watch the WrestleMania XX match between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg? Even Lesnar couldn't carry the match. Goldberg is sloppy in the ring. He destroyed Bret Hart's career, one of the iconic figures of wrestling.

And recently, TNA was in talks with Scott Steiner, and signed him. I also think Scott Steiner is useless in the ring. He's OK on the mic, and sometimes can be entertaining, but his in-ring skills leave a lot to be desired. Personally, I think TNA need to focus on building their existing talent before acquiring new talent.

Though Goldberg and Steiner aren't the greatest technical wrestlers, this is an entertainment business. And those two are very popular. The reason I brought up Goldberg was because of his popularity and ability to work the crowd. I think TNA has great talent and technical wrestlers who hardly ever miss a beat in the ring, but what's holding TNA back is the lack of "Entertaining" wrestlers. Wrestler's that can do good promos on the mic and work the crowd, not just yell slogans like "what's up?!" (like Ron the Truth, who I'm a fan of). I think that the opposite is true of WWE. They have plenty of wrestlers have entertaing ability but lack wrestlers with in ring technical ability (except the obvious few like Benoit, etc.) And competition is the key to regaining the balance of the two. Once again, remember WCW/WWF days.

They've got Christian Cage. And TNA is opposing this whole sports-entertainment thing, and making it sport with a tiny bit of entertainment here and there. I would rather watch coronation street than WWE, because WWE is basically a soap opera with muscular men. TNA are different from that. They work on in-ring techique and interesting matches, which I would rather watch than see some sasquatch who can't speak english very well talk about pummeling someone.

TNA can't break away from being entertainment. It wouldn't be pro-wrestling without the entertainment and showmanship. Wrestling period-whether WWE, TNA, NJPW, or the indy cicuit-is about entertainment. The purpose of a match is to tell a story, to entertain the crowd. Whether its through mic work, a signature move, or some crazy stunt, the purpose is to entertain. And like I said before, there needs to be a balance between entertaining in the ring, and through charisma. Wrestlers are not only atheletes, they are actors. They are acting in the ring selling injuries as well as on the mic. WWE emphasizes the mic and working the crowd where as TNA does the ring stuff. I've seen WWE get really sloppy and lazy in the ring and the matches have been crap. Likewise TNA's talent suck as actors and make Vin Diesel look like Robert DeNiro. There needs to be a balance between the two because they both are suffering by emphasizing one of the two. Why where the Rock, Triple H, Kurt Angle and Eddie Guerrero (just to name a few) such amazing wrestlers? Because they had the balance between the two-they never missed a beat in the ring and could work the crowd with ease. Because of that, they where the most entertaining

Well, I think one of the biggest problems with TNA is they refuse to bild on the talent they already have. Austin Aries, great in the ring, and not too shabby on the mic, yet he never gets air-time. Alex Shelley, phenomenal in the ring, good on the mic, once again, he gets no air time whatsoever, except for a 3 minute match. If TNA started to push their talent more, you'd see a much better product from them. Also, they struggle with a 1 hour time slot.

The 1 hour is the biggest road block. They can't push anyone and try to fit everything in in an hour. If they had 2 hours, they could build and push talent like Austin Aries, etc.

In stead, they jock the former WWE and WCW greats, for the most part. Hell, half of the veterans they're using are a bit past their prime. Jesse James and Billy Gunn need to go home, they're not good anymore. Konan? Please. Jeff Jarrett does alright. Nash is good. Sting is awesome.

See, some wrestlers have a brief gimmick and that makes them cool. It made Degeneration X cool a few years ago. But, Jesse James and Billy Gunn wore those out and it needs to die and go away. Some wrestlers are classic and can wrestle for a long time. Case and point: Hogan. Sting can do it, Nash can do it, Jarrett might do for a bit.

You gotta trim the dead out of a tree for it to flourish. Some of these guys are just dead weight.

Jeff Jarret is terrible. He's mediocre on the microphone, and crap in the ring. His matches are bog standard. Kevin Nash, should've stuck to acting, since he was better in the Longest Yard than he ever was in the ring. Did you see the Kings Of Wrestling promo? In 2003? It was the most boring promo ever, Nash decided to enlighten us on his life story. How can you call that entertaining?

Jesse James and Billy Gunn yes, should leave. But they're not a main part of shows anymore, in fact they're hardly ever at shows. As for Hulk Hogan, who you say to be a classic, that is one man who is completely overrated. Yes, his interviews are funny. Probably because they are so bad. He just shouts about Hulkamania running wild. In a couple of years he's probably gonna need a pace-maker, do we want a man like that in wrestling? His matches are awful. WrestleMania VI was a catastrophe in the main event, and that was supposedly "Hogan at his best". If that's his best, I don't wanna see his worst.

I agree the dried up old farts TNA keep pulling need to go home already, Jarret included. That goes for Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, Konnan, that one flamer that grabs and humps dudes' asses from WCW. I mean who's next, DDP? Now that would be ridiculous. Hogan was washed up and done a long time ago. He's just constantly being brought back because WWE's ratings suck and to promote his show on VH1. The low ratings is why they've brought alot of people back, even JR recently. Like I sadi, they either need to get an extra show or another hour of impact.
