Sound off, any GP fans here? I though since there was a F1 thread that there might be a few.

Finally. I wanted to make this a long time ago but didn't because no one seems to be interested. Also a Hayden fan I see? Been a fan since his AMA days and I hope he can show something good with the Ducati next season. If he doesn't, he should probably go back to Superbikes.

I know that the new GP9 will be the bike for Hayden, it rides like he does. Plus he has a teammate that will cooperate and work with him, not annex himself off in the team garage. But if GP still doesn't work out for him in a few years I could see him going to World Superbike and cleaning up.

Time is the death and the healing

I'm a huge MotoGP fan.

Rossi is of course the greatest, but next year I will be rooting for Mika Kallio (I'm a finn, hey!). Looking at the tests, he could do extremely well, even beat Hayden by the looks of it.

But really, if I want to talk about MotoGP, I go to a different forum. Nice to have a thread here though.

I love all forms of motorbike racing, Moto GP is the best, but world/british superbikes can have the closer races.

I'm rooting for James Toesland, he didn't do to bad this year for a rookie. Shame about the poor performance at Donnington park tho :(

I think that year, the most impressive rookie was either Lorenzo or Dovizioso. Lorenzo is obviously very, very fast and even won a race, but Dovi was consistent as hell and did a great job with an older model of Honda.

Looking at the test though, Dovi hasn't seemed to found the rythm on the new Honda bike yet. Lorenzo will most propably be fast next year too though.

In order of propability, everyone who I think has a shot at title next year:
1. Rossi
2. Stoner
3. Pedrosa
4. Lorenzo

On the top of those, guys like Hayden and Dovi have a fractional off-chance in my mind.

There aren't many people besides the one's mentioned who I'm expecting to be able to climb regularly to the podium. Either way, I'm expecting for Suzuki and Kawasaki to still be mostly in the back grid and for Yamaha and Ducati to be very strong. About Honda, right now I'm not sure if anyone besides Pedrosa will win races, unless Dovi get's the thing going. There is Elias too who can sometimes shine with 1-off performances. Takahashi has been too slow on the tests so far, but we'll see.

Oh and maybe Kallio will win!!!

I like what I saw from Hayden at the Valencia tests on the new Duc, but a bit of a let down at the Jerez tests. Of course you can never count Rossi out, I mean he could win races on the Kawasaki if he wanted too. But I of course will pull for Hayden as I always do, being an American. As for this past seasons rookie of the year Id have to give it to Dovi, just because he stayed heathly. Dovi didn't have the high injury upside down crashes the Lorenzo had. I think if Lorenzo didn't have some of those bad crashes he could have made a significant run for the title.

So, what do you think about Kallio's performance in Jerez? He was just a fraction behind Nicky after all (and neither one were that far from the 3rd place).

I have been positively surprised about Ducati's performances in the tests. Canepa is also doing well, Sete is maybe a bit behind, but he has the experience. Ducati could be in for a great season next year.

I think Kallio will do well this year. Are the satellite Ducati teams running the GP9's with the carbon fiber frame?

Yeah, I've gotten the impression that the bikes will be identical for all Ducati riders.

I just found out that Ducati is pulling out of British Superbikes. I hope this doesn't have later effect on their GP or World Superbike teams.
