I have plenty of reasons for hating X-2 1. it doesnt carry on from FFX's story at all, the only thing that FFX fans need to see is the ending. 2. They completely destroyed Yunas Character, she was not 'hot' at all she was acting like a 7 seven year old. 3. The dialogue, Yuna: Poopie Rikku: Yunnie! Yuna: I was just trying to be like you linking into point 3 that just show how they ruined Yuna's Character, Shes just dependant & immature, just like another rikku, after hearing that dialogue, i didnt play it for at least a month, it frustrated me alot! 4. bad cast as you can tell i didnt like what they did to yuna, rikku was practically the same character & Paine was really bland. There wasnt even a decent villain. 5. Battles were a bore there no more aeons, which is understandable due to what happend in FFX, but it still dragged it down abit, The Dress Sphere was god awful, worse than the sphere grid!, Changing outfits during battle was just silly & tedious.the movement around the screen was nice |

X-2 is a cut below the rest but its still a great game, same goes for XII. Both are among the best games of all time, to put them down becuase they were a little different from other Final Fantasy incarnations would be foolish. |

Its not because they were a little different, they were just disapointing, i had really high hopes for 12, i wanted to like it, but there were hardly any story events happening, i was just going through field after field & tomb after tomb, The only character to have a good background was Balthier, i liked him. but the rest of the cast was so plain, a bit like Quitist on FF8, ZZZZZZZZZZ I'm hoping Final Fantasy XIII will have more story events like 7,8,9 & 10 every new place you went to the story would progress, FF12 would just have you plow through the areas with hardly any story progression at all. |

I liked Quistis........ FFXII tried A LOT to appeal to non FF fans which is why the common FF fan doesn't like it but reviews give it ratings of 9.5 and above. And if its story you love, FFIV probably holds that title. |

Quistis was pretty hot... I can't be the only one who thinks Final Fantasy girls are hot? And, I totally agree on that. FF IV has a great story, I'm not sure if the best... But it's a great one I'll tell ya that. |

Well, Square Enix are currently holding a Private -Final Fantasy Agito XIII (the mobile one): It has been announced this is coming to PSP. This is great news becuase mobile phones suck when it comes to games. This is another Final Fantasy game for the PSP. Sony must be loving it. A trailer was alos shown. -Final Fantasy XIII: A new Trailer was shown. -Final Fantasy Versus XIII: A new Trailer was shown. -Final Fantasy VII Advent Children complete Blu-Ray: They have extended some of the scenes and made it look prettier which is reason enough to get it. However the big shock was that it will come with a playable FFXIII demo, yes playable! It comes out March 2009 in Japan. -Parasite Eve The 3rd Birthday: A new Trailer was shown. The mobile phone idea was scrapped, this is now coming to PSP as well. -Sigma Harmonics: A new Trailer was shown and there was also a playable demo. -Kindgom Hearts Coded: A new Trailer was shown. I don't really care about this to be honest as its only on mobiles. -Kingdom Hearts 358/2: A new Trailer was shown and there was also a playable demo. -Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep: A new Trailer was shown and there was also a playable demo. -Final Fantasy Dissidia: There was a playable demo. Well, thats all for the first day. Its 3 in the morning in Japan right now so not long until the next day of Square goodies. None of these trailers or demos have been published to the public yet so don't bother looking on youtube or anything like that but you can read some articles on a few websites for hands-on and impressions. If your wondering whats with the cool name, it stands for: D --Dissidia Final Fantasy K -- Kingdom Hearts S -- Sigma Harmonics 3 -- The 3rd Birthday 7 – Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete 13 – Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII EDIT: The Forum can't handle Sigma sign so I put S instead. Also, one last thing, some keen eyed fan managed to turn the strange name DKS3713 into REMAKE7 which obviously hints at a FFVII remake but I think you could turn any set of numbers and letters into any word you wanted with enough effort, I don't believe there is any truth in it, we shall see anyway, I certainly hope its true! I'm a big fan of FF, but I think X-2 was just awful in many ways, especially the boss music. Nobuo Uematsu, you will surely be missed... And the gameplay was just boring, why did Square returned to the classic Level Up system? They should've made something similar to FFX Sphere Grid. That was epic! But it's still a good game though, but it's definetly my least favorite FF. I feel pretty much the same about FFXII, the story is a bit boring, the final boss was very similar to Vagrant Story' final boss, and the "Invulnerable to physical attacks / magical attacks" abilities are annoying. But I'm glad that they've changed the gameplay, can't wait for XIII! Edited by brainScrap, Aug 8 2008, 04:03 AM.

Yeah, part of what makes FF so damn awesome is the music and thats all thanks to Nobuo Uematsu. He is one frickin' great composer. Since he left Square the music in their games haven't been the same. He now has his own company 'Smile Please' and he does the music for all Mistwalker Studio's games. The soundtrack for Lost Odyssey was simply breathtaking. |

In my opinion, the level system is way better then the Sphere Grid, and I can't stand the bitching about X-2 anymore, seriously, it's not that bad. The story was kinda messed up, but the rest was fine. How did they mess up the battle system? They actually made it faster, and harder, cause you couldn't just stand there and do nothing, the enemy could attack. The dressing was a cool feature, actually made me play the game to level up all costumes to the max. Also, it wasn't easy or anything, you had a lot of tough bosses and challenges, on the other hand, FF XII was pretty easy in comparison, except for Omega and Yiazmat that is. So yeah, it's not a perfect game, but it's not THAT bad for it to ruin X. A Final Fantasy VII remake? One part of my mind says, awesome bring it on! While the other says, hell no. Yeah, I don't quite understand the X-2 bashing personally. It was a good, no awesome game. I think its better than FFXII anyway. It has a better story, it has better music, it has a better battle system. They did screw up on a few things like having only 3 characters which are all girls and so on but I still think it's a top game. Also, while a FFVII remake wasn't confirmed at the Square Party, there has been some more news about the possibility:  This is a poster from Best Buy. They have all been taken down now and it has been said that these were 'missprints' although I have to say, thats one HUGE motherfuckin' missprint. "WHOOPS, I accidentally wrote FFVII is coming out on the PS3 on the 16th of this month, silly me" Its not a mistake people tend to make . Also, its Cloud's 'birthday' on the 19th of this month. Not the same day but its close. I don't quite know what to make of these recent FFVII remake hints, its all a bit fishy. I can only hope Square are going to announce it at the Tokyo Games Show or something. PLEASE Square! |

The cynical side of me says it will never happen... just like a CT remake will never happen.' However, the giddy child in me says "OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" On another note, i'm on a nostalgic kick and i've decided to explore my roots. I believe the first Final Fantasy game I ever played was the oft forgotten, "Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest." It was easy and kid friendly so obviously, I liked it... however, my next FF adventure was VII so i've never beaten any of the iterations before that installment. Couple days ago, I broke out Origins and started playing the first Final Fantasy... I plan to play through 1-6 while trying not to lose my fucking mind. It's going to be a stretch but hopefully, I can live through all the random battles... ...wish me luck. Edit: @Roy: If I don't do it this way... i'll never play the others. I am not ashamed that I put it on Easy Mode for the first one, as I want to get through this shit, as soon as possible. I was going to start with VI and maybe play the other ones but I figure, this way, i'll start with "ok" and move on up to "spectacular." Edited by Comatoes, Aug 12 2008, 08:04 PM.

I would skip FFI and II if you haven't ever played a pre-FFVII FF or you will probably end up ripping your hair out and not play the rest . The best 2D FF game in my opinion if FFIV, followed closely by FFVI. Also, more on the FFVII remake thing. If you go over to Square Enix's official site and go to their Final Fantasy Page, FFVII has been removed from the list - suspicious, no? |

I donno about you guys, but I just can't wait for FFversusXIII. Awesome looking characters and style. Supposid advanced Kingdom Hearts gameplay style, it looks great. This is like the first FF that actually looks "serious" and not fruity since FF8. Not saying IX, X, XI, weren't good, I just didn't fancy them much because of 9's funny art style, Tidus's lameness, and I'm not a big MMO fan. X2 was terrible, as was XII in my opinion, especially the main character, ickk. FFversusXIII reminds me of FF7, and I love FF7 to death. |

I loved FFXII. I don't see why so many people hated it. Yeah, the the main character looked like a Tidus-clone but after I got over the initial disgust, I grew to like his place in the story... I will say i'm glad that everything didn't revolve around him. I guess I liked the character design, as well since, I enjoyed the characters of FF Tactics Advance. Loved the new battle system in XII, too. Fitting way to end the FF iterations on the PS2, in my opinion. ...and yes, I can't wait for XIII. I try not to think about it because I know it's so far away. As far as the 'versus' title that's accompanying the main game; I haven't really been following it, at all. If it has a KH style to it (so i've heard), i'd be up for trying it but the setting/story/characters of KH really turned me off to that series, completely. The Disney characters just wouldn't let me get absorbed into it. I dunno... I could see myself giving it another try but, whatever... not high on my RPG priority list. |

I agree FFXII was fun. The story wasn't great but the game play and all the extras kept me playing for much longer then I did with most other FF games. I've been looking forward to FFXIII versus more then XIII. Only thing that worries me is its connection to VII. Personally I'm not a fan of VII and I'm not looking forward to their guest appearances. Seeing Rinoa should make up for it though. I hope it just doesn't try to milk more of VII in this game. I want this to be a complete different game in its own. |

You pretty much summed up exactly what I think, I agree with you 100%. As for Final Fantasy XIII, and the accompanied Versus title, I try not to follow it that much. That's also what I did at Final Fantasy X and XII, it's a lot better that way, in my opinion. I am very excited though that Versus has the battle system of Kingdom Hearts. KH is one of my favorite RPG's, everything about it is simply... fucking amazing. I can't wait for both Fantasy's, and the Kingdom Hearts title for the PSP. I don't know about the new Dragon Quest though, part IX. It's coming out for the DS, that's why I have my doubts. Let me state that in my opinion, Dragon Quest VIII is the best RPG ever, yet. I don't think IX will beat it, but we'll see. I'm really just excited for any decent RPG for the PS3 as well, the PS3 is lacking RPG's at the moment, good ones anyway. |

For those that liked the character models of XII, Tactics and IX. You should check out Vagrant Story if you haven't already. Its an old PS1 game but it is one of the most underrated games of all time. Created and disigned by the person that did XII, Tactics, and IX. |

That's a pretty awesome game, I remember renting it and playing it for a while, a few years ago. Sadly, I never finished it, and to find it again is well - hard. Maybe Ebay, otherwise I don't have a clue where to get it these days. |

[/exaggeration] In all seriousness, there were a lot of things that irked me in FFXII (Awful Story and Combat especially) but thats not to say I think its a bad game. Its a great game but for me, its not on par with any other FF game (Post-FFII). As for FFXIII/Versus/Agito - I am looking forward to them all. However, I am not looking forward to them as much as I have been looking forward to Final Fantasy games in the past. Square Enix is kinda going down the pot at the moment. Since it formed up with Enix plus Hironobu Sakaguchi and Nobuo Uematsu jumped ship to form their own companies (basically since after FFX was released) their games haven't been the same. Mistwalker have probably replaced them as my favorite video game company, if not now, soon they will. FFXIII looks like it will have a combat system even more unlike FF than FFXII, its going to be even less turn based and even faster = even shitter in my eyes. Thats not to say I wont enjoy it, if the story is awesome then i'll be happy. I do not like the idea of the main character being female. It may sound sexist (which its not, honest) but female game charaters just annoy me, having 3 main female characters in X-2 was their biggest mistake with that game. Versus looks badass but again, i'm worried about the combat. Agito was originally meant to be a mobile game so i'll let it slide if they have a bad combat system. I am however really looking forward to the new Kingdom Hearts games from Square. And of course - I'm always going to be hoping for a FFVII remake! |

I agree that these games aren't giving me much hype. I think the game that hyped me up the most was XI (by far) and then X. I was mostly hyped by X because of this trailer I got in a magazine DVD. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWZuVDGUK70 It was the first PS2 FF game and I knew it would be beautiful. I feel the jump from ps1 to ps2 was much bigger then ps2 to ps3. I was just talking to the Patriots about the Kingdom Hearts game. I had been looking forward to the next game after part two. And got even more exited when they started naming off three more Kingdom Hearts games. But all my dreams were dashed when they released info that non of them would be on a platform. I don't like hand held systems like Nintendo, PSP, and Cell Phone games. So I guess I'll never play those. Pisses me off when a game with a great plot like that, has a main story line released on a different system. Cause then there is no way for me to keep up with it.
