Usula has ESP capabilities, and as you can see in the trailer she seems to shatter a glass window by thinking it, so I think that might be her.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater	To answer all your questions relating to characters, here you are; IGN The Metal Gear Solid titles have been full of memorable villains and allies, and Portable Ops is no different. Snake will encounter a number of characters as he explores the San Hieronymo Peninsula who will both help and hinder his mission. As we wrap up our coverage of Portable Ops, we thought we'd give you a sneak peek at some of the characters you'll meet during the game. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lt. Cunningham A former CIA officer, Lt. Cunningham is FOX Unit's interrogation specialist. Infamous for his use of brutal methods to get the information he seeks, Cunningham tortures Snake at the start of the Portable Ops mission. In particular, Cunningham is searching for details on the Philosopher's Legacy, the secret from Operation Snake Eater. Cunningham is a large man with an artificial leg, a replacement for one that he presumably lost in battle. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Python Snake will cross paths with a face from his past during the Portable Ops mission. Python served with Snake during a number of missions in Vietnam. However, Python is no longer an ally of Snake, and the two friends will face off against each other. Python appears to have a particular affinity for cold, and his odd, Pinhead-like appearance suggests that he's no longer the same man that Snake once knew. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Null The man known as Null is a mystery to just about every person on the San Hieronymo Peninsula. Also called the Perfect Soldier, he appears to be extremely skilled in combat, with exceptional reflexes. Instead of wielding firearms, he carries a katana into battle, which he can use to deflect bullets. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ursula Ursula appears to be the lone female member of FOX Unit. A loyal follower of Gene, she also appears to be the team's paranormal specialist. She demonstrates various ESP abilities, such as telekinesis and clairvoyance. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gene The enigmatic commander known as Gene appears to be responsible for the crisis on the San Hieronymo Peninsula. Critical of being abandoned by his country, he plans on forming his own nation, using its military strength to gain his revenge. Gene is a skilled fighter who also appears to have connections to the various FOX Unit members. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Roy Campbell Fans of the Metal Gear Solid series will recognize Roy Campbell from previous games, but in Portable Ops, he's not a commander in charge of Snake's activities. The 1970's Campbell is a young Green Beret who's been imprisoned during a mission, and becomes the primary ally for Snake. Campbell helps with soldier recruitment, radio communication and other army tasks. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Naked Snake The legendary soldier who earned the title of Big Boss due to his success with Operation Snake Eater, Naked Snake is the reluctant hero pressed back into service to stop Gene and FOX Unit from holding the world hostage. The actions of Portable Ops lay the foundation for the formation of FOXHOUND, as well as the events that follow in the previously released Metal Gear games.

I agree it is more machete like than a Katana; Null also wields a Uzi in the released vid's Pah sod IGN, I'll add the following character summeries as more are revealed on the official MPO site. Oh and MPO's North American release is in under and hour, lucky bastards

Latest European Info: eurogamer.net Characters recruited in-game or downloaded by "hacking" access points have various attributes, and can be used in-game (switching between them using the menu, with inactive characters hiding in cardboard boxes, obviously), and the 12 additional characters in the European version should help give your squad a bit more depth. Careers of existing characters have also been expanded, to help highlight key attributes like athleticism and physical strength - obviously rather handy depending on the situation.
