Now I know there may have been topics on this before, but not in the last month anyway, so here's another one. ^_^

I ordered a copy of this the other day and it came yesterday, £9.99 which is a bargain I think. I had problems with installation on my tower PC, (it's not well) so it's on the laptop which is running it at the native resolution of 1440 x 900 with maxed settings! :) (inc AA)

I'm currently a Level 6 Rogue Night Elf (I think) and I'm still running around in the n00b-hole area, as it were. I wouldn't say that I'm hooked, as I just finished my first session on it earlier today.

Anyone else play this, how good are you, what do you think of it etc?

Erm - Ocelot11 - the one you saw in EB would have been the 14-day trial version, so I recommend you try it first although it's pretty cheap anywhere these days. All you pay for is your key mainly, as you do not need the 5 CD's to play it. (but you do need 5GB of free space!) ^_^

And that episode is so damn funny!

I played it before (warez version :ph43r: ), I got to LVL10 Orc Warrior. I stopped playing last year, for the unknown reasn, I got kinda bored of it, because you need to play alot for any good results.

Agreed, if they have monthly fee, atleast the game should be free.

^ Very true. But my friend assures me that it gets better - or else Blizzard can kiss my ass for £8.99/month. ^_^

Gets better? Ummm when it first came out about half the FFXI players left to go to WoW. Roughly three months later they all came back saying WoW sucks ass after playing it for a little bit of time. FFXI has been around for like 4-5 years and most the people who started from day one still play it. FFXI hands down the better MMORPG.

The only thing I dont like about it is that you have to pay.. So if you dont play for a couple months your still paying.. I play guild wars its free.. its not as great as WoW but its preety good.. similar worlds.. just not as many chars.. you got a warrior, necro, monk, archer, sorcerer, but all chars can have diffrerent race, height, gender, face and hair changed.. al and all 8.5/10

Time is the death and the healing

As I have sayed some time ago earlier, I was one LONG time ago almost hooked to WoW, but then my PC broke. After my PC was fixed I didn't feel like playing WoW again and now I actually hate almost anything in WoW. My friend still plays it, but whenever I see him playing it, I complay about how sucky PVP it has and how stupid those instanses are etc. I tried to tell him, what would actually really make a good MMORPG, but he ofcourse defends WoW and gives me lame excuses, why my visioned "Perfect MMORPG" wouldn't work

Not true. You pay if you're actually going to play the game - so you can pay monthly or buy a timed game card which let's you play for 'x' days. When that expires, you either get another card or leave it until you want to pick it up again. ;)

Hey doesn't WoW have some 14 days free trial? Then you can decide whenever to pay or not?

Of course. They offer a 10-day free trial which is available for download from their site, or you can purchase a 14-day free trial from any good PC game shop; over here they are £1.49 and that pretty much covers the cost of the disc. ^_^

I mean the game only cost me £9.99 to buy and that's with a free month thrown in. :)

Care? No, mate.

World of Warcraft, hmm.

From my own judgement, I don't have much to say for this crazily addictive bag of nonsense. From the first time I was thrown into the world, my first opinion was never could I be arsed to do this. Next thing I know I'm playing hours upon hours non-stop.

Funnily enough, one of the many things that drove me away from it was also one of the few things that kept me playing ...the people. I dunno how so many assholes can be in one place but a lot of the epic-geared addicted "I-spend-far-too-many-hours-doing-this" people are far too up their own arse that they dismiss everyone else ... and lets face it, if you're not in lovely epics at level sixty, you're not good for much. (Well soon level seventy with the waste of time expanson pack on its way)

It's sad that casual players are not only looked down upon, but they also stand no chance of doing anything unless they make a 'twink' for lower level BG's which gets repetitive and boring quite fast. Plus it costs a shit load for no apparent good reason.

Epic gear means raiding or PvP'ing like a little bitch which in itself, is boring. If I honestly wanted to fight the same mob for twenty minutes to obtain a few epics which you probably won't get until you do the same thing ten more times, I'd rather just go outside, sit on a wall and stare at cars. It lasted too long and it was too boring. I feel sorry for the morons that endure it everytime and even more sorry for people that actually enjoy it. You're screwed.

PvP was the only spark which I enjoyed and even that I grew tiresome with. With a notable lack of PvP arena's, it's only a matter of time before you clock on to the fact that it isn't actually that fun, it's just routine. Really, I began to stop and think what the fuck I was doing after the sixteenth game of Warsong Gulch in one day teamed up with a cow druid named 'Baxter' from Sweden.

Interesting as it was, friends on the game was the only thing that kept me going. I was a good player and indeed I was quite a popular person as I acknowledged everyone, not just the elitist fucks of end-game guilds. Regardless to say, even I couldn't bring myself to play it in the end, seemed more like a chore over an enjoyable thing to do. I know many that don't agree at all but ah well, it's my choice and I'm happy I've left it behind.

The game has that spark which keeps you addicted. I enjoyed it as I watched my character grow to level sixty making new friends along the way and I enjoyed a few instances and a few games of PvP too but the only way to really make something of yourself, is to do either of those two excessively ... something I wasn't prepared to do. Just not worth it.
