Jail Guard

In playing alternative missions we come across three types: -Gurlukovich soldiers (non-arsenal) -Tengu soldiers (arsenal) -...another group that looks like a crew of astronauts (non-arsenal) Can someone tell me wtf the last group of soldiers is supposed to be? |

should be doing something else right about now.

Are you talking about the guards on the VR missions because Im sure their the only other guards that there are (the ones in the VR stages who look orange and have american accents?) |

No, I'm talking about the ones you see in alternative missions. They're most common in any mission that involves the strut F warehouse. |

These guys are referred to as "High Tech Soldiers" and wield what look like M4's with a 203 grenade launcher attached, which the bastards do actually use.... I just ran around a corner once and exploded, which sucked. They also sound very different to the other terrorists, they actually sound far more American than they do Russian, which leads me to think that perhaps they were some sort of personal guard to Solidus as President, and he either bought them out, or they remained loyal to him. They are more common in VR, yes, but they are indeed in the main game. I have met a few on connecting bridges as support troops, I think F-A was one. And they are the reinforcements for the Shell 2 Core also. Only a couple sent though, thankfully. I swear they have also been present in other locations for me, as investigating teams in Struts C and F, though I may be mistaken. One annoying thing about them is that they can't be put in a chokehold, because of their high collars. They just can't be grabbed, which isn't good, and makes a fast melee way of dealing with an alerted one difficult. Best bet is to stagger with a punch, then hit the groin. They also have strong armour, takes quite a few rounds to punch through. |

Thanks man! Well, I thought about it, and it's my conclusion, another of these little things which are left up to the player, I guess. I don't think they were ever mentioned over the Codec, whereas the regular support teams were given a description. They can be viewed in the Document of MGS2, in the character viewer. They're dangerous soldiers though, less annoying perhaps than shield guys, as you can headshot them easily, but they're powerful for sure. Also, like the Tengus, you'll notice the little camera in their helmets. When one sees you, they ALL see you. It's fine if you're just seen quickly from far, or holding them up or something, not detected, but otherwise instant alert. I doubt they can be held up in main game, though I may be mistaken. @0warfighter0 - Careful with posts under 3 words, the mods here will eat you. Edited by ichbinscissors61, Aug 11 2008, 11:06 PM.

Well I am the President's bodyguard, Raiden can call Snake up while under attack from me, and he'll explain everything. I come along to places where Raiden's caused a lot of trouble, to teach that bitch a lesson.
