Man= Older Male.

Raiden was a rookie during SOL right, and MPO was in 1970/1971. I don't think that a rookie would be in his late 30's.

I know, thats what I was saying in that post ^

Raiden would be too young even if he was alive.

I do think that his physical existence might have not been an affecting matter.

He could've been chosen to be raised in war. Just like Null/Gray. He became an Exo suit sporting ninja, like Olga and Fox.

I do think that Raiden has some connection with null. In the very least.

Raiden was raised as a child soldier in the Liberian Civil War.

There's no connection, as Fox died four years before Raiden even met Snake. The only reason Raiden became like Fox was because he was given the HF Blade by Olga at the end of MGS2. You should really play MGS2, as it would prove your theories to be false.

Well, it's not completely certain, but seems likely. Another thing that supports this theory is that when Gene talks about the mysterious strategist, a man looking like him can be seen.

And then there's that password thing in MGS3.

What password thing? how do u get it?

The password meant to be used to verify ADAM. "Who are the.."
- So, is it true? Was Big Boss really your father?
- That's what he said. That's all I know.
- And you were able to kill him, knowing that?
- Yup.
- How?
- He wanted it. Besides, some people just need killing...

No, wait..scratch that.
..This is good, isn't it

Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions are turds in movie form. Also, most women expect the man to make the first move.

here is another outlandish theory...if null later becomes Gray Fox, and according to the digital graphic novel Campbell used the codename Chicken Fox, then doesn't Roy Campbell fit the bill?

Actually the picture they show of the shadowed man looks more like Ocelot. Note: the GRU style hair cut.

Sorry for the bump, but i was just gonna say, doesnt it seem wayyyyy to simple for the bad guy who helped Gene be Major Zero? I mean cmon this is MG the writers tend to make more interestin storylines and not let you see thru the plot without really thinking into it. :D

I believe its someone who is a new character, However I dont go against plain evidence and theres a possibility that its Zero, if you dont cancel out the password, which i think was thrown in as a joke/nod to MGS2.

I mean look at MGS3's Major Ravokiu or however you spell the gay dudes name, that was a joke thrown to Raiden, So why would the "who are the patriots" be taken so seriously when it was said to Raiden from Olga? It most likely isnt meant to be taken more then a mere joke IMO.

Now you've been talking in your sleep uh oh Things you never say to me uh oh Tell me that you've had enough Of our love, our love

Im sorry I don't understand where all if this is coming from.

Awesome. Now we have two topics for the exact same thing. Merged.

Anyway, I never really did give my two cents on this issue – so here goes.
Like the vast majority of MGS fans, I realize the uncanny similarities between Major Zero’s character and this unnamed puppet mater pulling strings behind the scenes. However, whilst this is so, it is – as SYN pointed out – too simplistic and very unlike MGS. I mean, the end of the game usually leaves up guessing aimlessly – but in this case; we’ve been given an almost direct answer.

We all know that in Metal Gear – Kojima loves to reuse characters whenever he can. I mean, he’s brought characters that were previously thought to be dead back to life – all in order to expand on their character, and have some rather thrilling plot-twists involved. Now, this would also seem to be the case if Major Zero were the man we’re talking about – which just adds more possibility that he is indeed "the man with the same code name as Null".

The fact that Major Zero has also been in an exact position to manipulate things in both Snake Eater and Portable Ops also adds to the notion – but is there a little too much backing his case for it to be legit? Personally, I’d have to say that maybe Major Zero is a smokescreen to deter us from the actual truth – or hell, maybe somebody else altogether has been using Zero to pull strings? The possibilities are endless in Metal Gear.

Nevertheless, things would seem to be a little one-sided here – which isn’t right in metal Gear unless Kojima is trying to fool us – like usual.

I definitely feel that Zero is involved, but like Tam said, not the ring leader. Because how in the hell could someone like Zero be a last boss? He'll be in his late 50's to early 60's by the time MPO2 comes out. It has to be someone involved with the Patriots, no the Philosophers, remember, Gene said, "You do realize you're betraying your superiors, don't you?" His superiors? Philosophers.

It could be someone new, or it could be someone WE haven't seen, but Big Boss has. Who knows? We can't figure that one out til MPO2 comes out.

Yea It could be a Patriot thats behind it all. It makes sense perhaps Zero is being used like Roy was in MGS; being pulled in because of Meryl. Perhaps something similar happened with Zero, someone he deeply cared about was thrown in as insurance he would help set up BB or whatever his role was.

Snake Eater was a mission setup by director to get Philosopher's Legacy. When Major found out about this, he must've contacted Ocelot to make a new authority: one based off the true patriot. This way, they'd be honoring the Boss whilst controlling everything to make sure something like Snake Eater wouldn't happen again. I think sometime when Zero died, they made some type of A.I. that would behave under these ideals. That doesn't happen as computers aren't human, they have no rationale, no SENSE. And because of that, events like MGS2 and MGS4 happen.
