Christian Bale in the running for the role of Solid Snake? I'm not sure. It's unconfirmed, but he states in an interview with Nuts magazine that he's in the running to play Solid Snake in the 2009 Metal Gear Solid movie. |

Meh, in the running basically just means "Male actor". There are loads of people in the running, the term is very vague. But it is possible, and the guy is a great actor, not sure whether he'd suit Solid Snake though. |

I think I'd be quite happy with Christian Bale as Snake, as long as he worked on the voice a bit. He's pretty close, actually. |

Thats pretty cool, Bale is a great actor and looks kind of like the legend. I agree with Gatso, I've always pictured Kurt Russell as Snake, but he's almost too old now and in my dreams he will remake Backdraft before he stars again

They should bring Kurt in somehow, have him play Big Boss in a flashback or something. I'm not so sure about Christian Bale though (he is superb mind you), he should stick with Batman and leave the video game characters alone. If they're going to make a franchise that includes sequels then I think they should bring in a relative unknown to play Solid Snake, like Lucas did with Mark Hammil in Star Wars, having some big names to back him up eg; Ron Perlman or Gary Oldman for Ocelot, Cillian Murphy for Ocaton and Gene Hackman playing Campbell etc. |

He's actually pretty buffed up already, but again, it depends on the film. I mean he'd fit the role perfectly, but I think he may be TOO good an actor for a game movie, know what I mean? |

I'd much rather see the MGS movie made in CGI, like the Final Fantasy one was, so as to keep as many of the voices around, but if it's going to be live-action Christian Bale is a fine choice. |

Christian Bale!?!? im sorry but he has no acting skill at all. His "rugged" voice in the batman movie was so bad it made me laugh. He has no range of emotion in his line delivery. I agree with having an unknown for solid snake. Also along with kurt russel i also wish clint eastwood was younger because he would be a splitting image of snake or bigboss |

I've seen the column in question, it's just a rumour mill-esque box outside the main interview with Bale stating that he's a fan fave on the internet - nothing more. We're not going to here anything on who's playing the main role till there's a confirmation from either Konami or whoever bought the rights to it. |

Hugh Jackman all the way myself, Christian bale is not bad but I dont see him as Snake, I have always seen HUgh Jackman play as him. But ah well who are we to decide? I just hope Kojima or whoever picks the right person |

I would be very happy with Christian Bale as Solid Snake, he is such an incredible actor and has been known to change his appearance (even starving himself to extremes) for movies. I think he would do very well, although i do think Hugh Jackman would do a good job as well. |

Are you SERIOUS? He is a terrific actor, Batman Begins was one of his best performances. Ever see him in Prestige? Or Shaft? Or American Psycho? He's a brilliant actor and anyone who says otherwise knows jack shit about movies or acting pure and simple. |
