I'm so glad this was only $20. After getting to play the game and loving I reached the point where i hate it. When did I reach it? Well playing infinity mission on Hard. I played for a long time and felt like stop playing because there's so much you can do on one sitting so I go to save and well if I do all my progress is lost so I just put it in powersave and move on.

I later I felt like playing DJ Max but I couldn't because plus is occupy my psp...

So I feel like finishing up later the day and I do so to go to a mission where i have to find the exit in a short amount of time and rush and run like crazy to fail. Losing all my capture soldiers and everything. I wasted my time and was pissed.

Making a difficult game is one thing but a key to making a hard game and making it fun is to allow progress to be made and this game just destroys that concept. I was so pissed.

Anyone else feel like that?

I can see why extreme mode can be frustrating in a long play through, but hard mode? It only takes about 35 minutes. I suggest playing through normal mode a few times and learning where all the exit areas for the stages are. They're usually the same points from the original MPO, like in the Guest House it'll be Snake's cell.

Don't try to rush through and stock pile as many soldiers as possible if you're playing on a higher difficulty. If you don't feel confident that you can't pass it, then you're just wasting time when recruiting a ton of soldiers.

I recruited 5 genomes and a high tech my first run through expert. On one stage, I had to reach the goal without being spotted. Two inches in front of the exit area, a guy saw me, so I know how you feel.

I guess I was typing out of frustration. Hard mode isn't that difficult I just keep failing on the time missions. Where you have to find the exit before time runs out and run from guards or cameras and mines.

I guess learning the exits is the key.

I dunno about you guys, but it's been pretty easy for me.

I rarely carry guns on my guys. When I beat hard last, I carried body armor, a shield, and plenty of medical kits for snake.

I'd get near the end of the level and I use my deliveryman surfsomething is his name. And I collect all items in the level. Then after a few missions when we go back to the briefing menu, I "use item" on all the soldiers in alpha team or whatever. After I bring them up to life I try to give them good items and then go about fighting.

I captured two tengu soldiers on hard. It was on the hospital map. I knew that they couldn't climb up to the top of the building (it started me on top of that 2 story building) so I ran to one side of the hospital (furthest corner of the perimeter entry) and the soldiers gathered to that side trying to shoot me (they couldn't because there's a wall protecting me) Then I RAN to the entry way and ran to the truck asap. I would just roll into the soldiers and then drag them to the truck after i knocked them out.

All of this would have been impossible without my shield + body armor + med kits.

But yes, I find it hell of annoying that I can't save my game while in the infinity mission. I want to get back to my xmb menu but I can't :( But on the flip side, this annoyance has pushed me to complete my missions much faster.

And btw, I don't know how people play games off the umd. This is the first game I've played from the UMD and it loads ridiciliously slow.

How is extreme mode for you guys? From what I've gathered:
Easy = 5 stages
Normal = 10 stages
Hard = 15 stages

Does that mean that extreme is 20 stages? I better take some adderall + sign off a day of work to complete this lol.

Extreme was 21 stages, I think.

You can skip 5 levels on extreme and jump straight to the mission with dozens of soldiers in Gene's final battle zone. All you need to do is pick up the two guns and walk straight into the X, it's simple. But usually you would want to pick up a soldier there since they're cool. Be careful because once they see you, they go all out. Pick them off one by one silently if you honestly want one of 'em. After that I got Campbell, what's funny is when you use him in Infinity mode and call codec. "Whoops, almost called myself."
