Ok, this is the Hound I did today, a good start for us here. I messed up a little on the Fury, almost killed him without thinking. And then my controller locked up in the Shagohod chase bit, explaining my 6 serious injuries and 1 lifebar. Really annoying, I hope it fixes itself. Finished my second FOXHOUND today, significantly faster than my last one, can still push for a better time though. Also, I saved 17 times, which I think can be cut down. 2:26:37 on Extreme, scratch run. Won't be long till Andrew smashes it.

There we go God, smashed you. :lol:.Nice time for you there, but this is my best effort, which was done on Euro and with End fight. This can be cut, of course, and my saves can too. I wasn't that happy with myself here, nothing crazy, but it will do, and it's a nice start, the next one is planned under 2 hours with End fight. This was a scratch run, but I made use of DPM camo in this one. I really want to cut the time next one. 2:12:10 Edit: Meh, forget that thing. This is the real deal, made it last weekend, running into Monday. My best yet, and one that truly does smash God.  Took a bit of effort, to say the least. End fight, naturally. 1:51:32 Next run, I want under 1:50, End fight, not a big step up, but I'm starting to challenge the better Foxhound runners now, just go along slowly. |

Just noticed this thread here. An interesting challenge. I wish more people would get involved. I am going to try to get some people going on this. Im joining a group for this reason. We need to make it clear that the best mgs players are at this forum. I will get more videos on youtube to recruit for this stuff. And Andrew, im going for your foxhound score. |

Yeah man, that'll be great if we can get some more people here, I'm sure there are quite a few people who have got a decent rank, they just need to show it. Maybe we'll attract some of the big players here, but their Foxhounds are under 1:30 usually, tough to live up to. If we got Take-Chan, damn that would be good, he'd pwn us pretty bad, but it would be amazing to have him on the forum. Keep up the duels too, you have the fastest Ocelot unit and End on youtube, by quite a way, maybe some people will take note. Ah, I see you put in the Big Boss, God. This is the only rank on the board I don't have, I'm not so good at MGS2, best rank there is a Hound on normal. I may try to improve this soon, I have two big problems. The Tengus are one, they deal so much damage, and Snake keeps dying. I would need full M9 going in and Snake to co-operate. Take-Chan has a great way to deal with them, no damage. I may have to play SOL, and I'm not sure if I really want to, the coolant trick is pretty cheap. My second problem is saves. 8 is damn punishing, but I should be able to run the Tanker in one. I think I'll have not game over if discovered on too, so if I get seen, I have a chance to stop the alert. And of course, the choking.... Jesus, I hate that part. Boss-wise, let's see.... Vamp, Fatman, Rays and Solidus are easy. No problems here at all, save at Vamp anyway, if I mess up the punching. Other bosses can present a bit of a challenge. I think I'll play some hard soon, move up slowly. I know Helikaon has one, maybe he and others will submit, MGS2 seems to be the most popular game, as shown with VR. Great to hear man, good luck with your Foxhound, I'm pretty proud of my latest effort, but I'd love some competition. Not sure when I'll start my next one. I do want to be faster though, there are places I can definitely improve. I may end up skipping the End again in future, but I love fighting him in them, not least as I get the Mosin afterwards, dangerous for all bosses after him. Be looking forward to your finished product.

It's absolutely fine to use Spirit camo, or any camo you wish. Of course, stuff like Infinity and stealth used, the game will disqualify your run for us by itself. :lol: No special items are allowed, I'm sure you knew that though, it's a requirement of all these ranks. Special items are Stealth, Infinity face paint, the EZ gun, the Patriot and the SAA. SAA is fine to use in the prison break, so no worries. I even use it to knock down and hold up people. I'm not sure about using it after that, should be able to up to the bike crash, where you lose it in the cutscene, make sure not to use your other. Certainly not before the Prison break, mind. Basically, all we want is the rank, doesn't matter if you make 24 saves, 4:59:59 or whatever. If you want to do a replay run and play with Spirit, feel free. I like to play scratch runs personally, but I do sometimes use DPM, which is of course acquired from top score duel play, always on your saves, nothing you can do about it, so may as well use the thing. The other unlocked camos are fine too, Flecktarn, Auscam and Desert Tiger. So, replay runs are fine here. And as long as you know the stats, go for it, whichever way you play, good luck. |

Just did a speedrun on normal bagging a DOB in 2:54:29. Seeing as its the first time I've played SE in months I don't doubt it's improvable

Great news! I was kind of hoping you'd come along, been a fan of your work for a while now. The latest runs were just amazing, and I never knew about the barrel trick until I saw it, nice one. Obviously our Foxhound ranks are easy for you to beat, hoping I can match you a bit in duel, I have dedicated a lot of time to it. Make sure to post up your scores man, give us some damn hard targets, but it'll be good. The videos - yeah, that's Skywalker, making some good ones. I should be able to make my own ones soon, just need that DVD recorder and a few other things, and I can hopefully prove my pics with videos. And of course, any help you can give us will be great, any tips and advice. I'll never shut up about the gameplay, so I've always got something to say. Hope to talk to you soon man, and make sure you enter scores! Oh, Tam.... I remember someone saying they'd never post in the leaderboards...... :lol: Talk to you on MSN later, hopefully, as ever. |

Really? I have PAL too, I'm English, btw, just to clear that up. I did notice, actually, your Volgin, which beat mine, but you scored 400 points less or something. Is this a problem for you on all duels? If it is, that sucks pretty bad. Don't really know why it does that, mine is fine, points wise. My 12:72 on Volgin got me 139,872 points. I'm not sure if we could work around it, even someone as sad as me has no idea where points are gained in time. I guess there's always main game stuff, but you'll absolutely pwn me. Btw, how's the SS run going? I'll have to think about duel. Unless you win by a fair amount, time wise, you couldn't score top, it seems. Damn annoying. So, all duels are like this? |

Ugh, that sucks, your duel is confusing. That's a hell of a time man, an SS is risky, of course, not easy to speedrun so confidently. I guess an SS overall could be faster, as there's no calling to save, but to get a great run with no easy restart is tough. I know what you mean about motivation, I get like that, happened the last two days, I haven't played much. And especially a Foxhound run, can't get motivated for those too often, explaining why I only have 3. But I will try to get my own motivation back soon, hope you regain yours too. If you make 1:25:xx, I'd say that's absolutely unbeatable, I can't see anyone getting close to that. I'd love to see that, as that's probably as fast as a Foxhound can be made in, although I saw no flaws really in your 1:26. Even Anonymityhope probably can't get near 1:25:xx. I know I never will, hoping to better your old 1:44 in the future, myself, with saves though. Never again man? Damn, that would be a shame. Still, I suppose you've gone about as good as you can go, not much left to do. And it seems duel isn't an option for you. Nice page? Not entirely sure which page you mean, but thanks.^_^ Not my youtube page though, that needs filling, and hopefully it will be soon. I'm thinking of uploading my End unarmed first, save the good stuff for a bit. |

*sigh* He's the German guy whose vids I've been spamming at you. :lol: Hmm, I may go for that new Foxhound soon, possibly start something this weekend, but my family tend to get in the way, especially my god damn father. But I'll leave that. I need to go below 1:50 this time, steadily work my time down, I think. Oh, and I need to make that Doberman, the good part is, the bosses are all on normal, meaning my duel strategies will all work, Ocelots in 24 sec, Ocelot in 16, Pain in 16, Fear in 18, Fury in 18, Shagohod in just over a minute, Boss in 28-30. They should all hopefully go to plan like that. The End can be annoying, but since I now know the Warehouse trick, thanks again, Take-Chan, he'll have less stamina at the start. Not sure when I will start these off, I like peace and quiet when I begin a run.
