Hey guys.

I started a new project today:)

Its a Gekkou!

Heres a basic polygon model.

I'm using maya 7 and later photoshop for textures.

I will create a background as well, but after the Gekkou is done.

Oh, and if anyone here have a blue print or good side and front view please post them here that would help alot!!

Back to work:)

WOW! They look great, I've been meaning to get into 3D modelling, expanding from Photoshop, but the programs I've seen cost an arm and a leg, any tips you can give me about starting out in this area or graphics?

Great work, looks fab, hoping for new updates.

I really like it :D

One minor thing though maybe the legs could be slightly thinner? Then I think it would be spot on :)

I'd assume some graphic 3D animation or whatnot, but even if not, there's nothing wrong with making it for the sake of making it, right?

I will render a final image?

I plan to have a nice background and everything textured. Have a better lighting setup etc. Then post the render over at CGTalk.com Then maybe use the image as a wallpaper.

This project is more of a challenge to me then anything, I just want to see if I can capsture the mgs feel. :)

I have been thanking about creating a short animation. But I am even for a still image going to create solid snake shooting at the Gekkou, or the like.

I started out with no knowledge of about the world of 3d. I ordered Maya, 4.5, back in march of 2002. I install and fired the baby up and yeah I was looking at a screen loaded with stuff I didn't understand. Maya took me about a good 6 months to get a good idea of how 3d works. But I started modeling right of the back.

But really it doesn't matter which 3d program you start off on they all have the same results.
