A group of rogue agents had taken a VIP as a prisoner and were demanding we (my government) hand over the nuclear codes. Sending in a team would have been too dangerous, so I was sent in alone on a search and destroy + rescue mission. All went to plan, except I was double crossed by a guy who used to be an assassin for the yakuza. Thankfully I managed to get out alive with the VIP, but that's another story...

But since I've lost much of my interest in MGS and a lot of free time I had before... It's have been difficult to spare a time for you guys (no to mention i'm not fluent in english yet =P so it would be a bit of shame if I screw something up while writing). About that snake, that's good I guess. From what I've heard, they're not senscient animals so they show no pain nor mercy. I heard a story about some lab snakes which were fed 2 mice for lunch every day -- they would kill the first mouse either by constriction or venom, and eat it, but would not bother about the second one, spending that time only to digest the food. That second mouse, afraid to die and angry about his dead companion, simply devoured the snakes' head even if the process lasted for at least an hour. The snakes proved to be complete unaware of their own integrity not only while eating but anytime. They are programmed to kill whatever that moves, but can't stand against their own meal. That's fucking incredible. I mean, you can die miserably, but even that you won't see coming, so why bother. @MetalGearCatterson: finally someone who has a minimum of reasoning and honesty.
